Factual error: Combat is set in Northern France, where there are no snow-capped mountains. Yet Saunders' troops are crossing such terrain here. It's also apparent that, despite dialogue referring to sub-zero temperatures, it isn't really very cold. The actors are sweating in their snow gear, there's no frost on them, and no one's breath is forming any clouds in the air.
Factual error: The planes Hanley identifies as Messerschmitts aren't. They're stock footage of U.S. P51 Mustangs.
Continuity mistake: The room that is being used is downstairs from road level, but a window in the room shows tree top level scenery. (00:41:15)
Audio problem: Season 3, Episode 68, "The Duel". Sometimes the tank's co-axial machine gun is firing, but no gunfire sound is heard.
Revealing mistake: Season 3, Episode 68, "The Duel": The prop wash from the helicopter filming the overhead scenes are evident as everything (dust, twigs, leaves, etc.) is being blown around.
Continuity mistake: Season 3, Episode 68, "The Duel": When the truck first blows its tire, it is in a very muddy, watery patch of road. Subsequent scenes show the road is dry except under the truck where the truck driver is trying to jack up the truck to change the blown tire.
Continuity mistake: The German tank has its main gun traversed to the rear of the tank as Sgt. Saunders is trying to climb aboard. A following shot shows the tank with its main gun pointing forward, then the next shot The Gun is facing toward the rear again.
Continuity mistake: Season 3, Episode 68, "The Duel": Opening shot shows a "German" tank with the commander's cupola on the left side of the turret. As the "German" tank is really an M-41 Walker Bulldog from the Korean/Vietnam era, the cupola should be on the right side of the turret as the majority of American tanks since WWII have that feature. Obviously, the film was flipped.
Continuity mistake: The first shot of the German tank shows the tank commander's station on the left side of the turret; later on and for the rest of the episode the TC's station is shown on the right side of the turret. Note: WWII German tanks had the TC station on the left side of the turret while most American tanks during and after WWII had the TC station on the right side of the turret. The tank used in this episode was a Korean/Vietnam War-era American M-41 Walker Bulldog.
Audio problem: Several times the German tank fires its co-ax turret machine gun. There is gunfire flashing, but no machinegun sound.
Continuity mistake: Season 3, Episode 68, "The Duel". As Sgt. Saunders is trying to board the tank on its back deck, the tank's cannon is pointed rearward. A subsequent shot shows the cannon over the front, then the next the cannon is over the rear again.
Continuity mistake: During the night's shelling Kirby escapes into the woods, but in part of that run sequence it looks like Saunders is doing the running, and it is daytime to boot. (00:11:00)
Continuity mistake: Season 3, "The Little Carousel": Claudine's hair length changes several times throughout the episode.
Continuity mistake: Season 3, "The Little Carousel": In the land mine scene, Anderson's helmet disappears and reappears repeatedly between takes.
Revealing mistake: Season 3, "The Imposter": During the march, Rick Jason slips and says, "Peabody! Bring up the rear!" He was supposed to say "Littlejohn." Peabody is the actor's real name.
Visible crew/equipment: Season 3, "A Rare Vintage": In the scene inside the winery, a cameraman's shadow intrudes at the left of the shot.
Continuity mistake: Season 3, "The Long Walk": Near the end, the wine bottle Saunders is holding switches hands between shots, then vanishes.
