Factual error: "The Return of Golden Tom": The Tedlers' kitchen is a 19th Century redress of a 20th Century set, but still includes a modern sink and faucet fixture where a water pump should be.

Character mistake: Season 4, Ep. 29, "Bald-faced Boy": Uncle Del forgets his nephew's name during the argument in the cabin. He calls Brett "Mike," which is neither the actor's name nor that of any of Del's other relatives.

Continuity mistake: "One Spring Like Long Ago": In the general store, Randy rests his arms on a partition, then takes them down and turns away. The following shot is mismatched: he's immediately leaning on the partition again, without enough time to return to that position.

Continuity mistake: 4-23, "Ride a Cock Horse to Laramie Cross": The dye job on young Clint Howard's hair is inconsistent from scene to scene. It's dark black at the start, but pales to a shade much closer to his natural blond color in many shots later on. His brown make-up (a laughable effort to make a blue-eyed Anglo kid look Hispanic) also varies, and disappears entirely in some of the covered wagon scenes.

Continuity mistake: 4-26, "The Wolves Up Front, the Jackals Behind." Randy walks into the blacksmith's barn with a guitar strapped to his back. When he steps inside in the very next shot, the guitar has disappeared.
