Jelks - S3-E17

Continuity mistake: When John confronts Joe about firing Jelks, Joe's hands change positions, from down at his sides to up at chest level adjusting his gloves, every time the camera angle changes. (00:22:50)

Mi Casa, Su Casa - S3-E19

Continuity mistake: While he's "dining" with Miguel and the banditos, Don Sebastian's position on the ground changes repeatedly as the camera angles shift. In most shots, he's reclining and leaning on one elbow. But in several others, he's sitting upright. (00:24:35)

New Hostess in Town - S3-E22

Revealing mistake: After Buck knocks Bates out, Victoria takes the outlaw's clothes as a disguise in order to escape. Miraculously, Bates' clothes, despite his being a foot taller and considerably heavier than Victoria, fit her perfectly. She doesn't even have to roll up the shirt sleeves or the trouser legs.

Auld Lang Syne - S3-E24

Revealing mistake: When Buck comes across the first of two bodies in the desert, we see only the dead man's booted legs protruding from the bushes. When he finds the second body, the exact same shot of legs and boots (with the same bushes and rocks) is used over again with the film reversed.

Auld Lang Syne - S3-E24

Factual error: The Apache spearhead Buck appropriates is very obviously made from machine-tooled steel. Indian tribes in 1870s Arizona made their weapons points from hand-knapped stone and on rare occasions, iron. They never developed steel-making technology.

Generation - S3-E25

Revealing mistake: Due to budget cuts in the 3rd season, an L.A. soundstage replica of the ranch house replaced the outdoor set, which was in Old Tuscon. The replacement was often painfully obvious. In this episode, a stock exterior shot of the real house, with its outside walls undecorated, contrasts with the mock-up, which has mounted cattle horns all over it.

No Trouble at All - S3-E26

Plot hole: Victoria asks her rescuers to take her to Rancho Velásquez. When they ask where it is, she says, "About 30 miles from here." Though she never indicates a direction, they reply, "Sorry, we're not going that way." (00:23:20)

Billy Blue Cannon: I need all the rest I can get, Uncle Buck.
Buck Cannon: When I was your age, Blue, the word 'rest' hadn't been invented.

Trivia: While shooting an early episode, Mark Slade fell from his horse and suffered a painful bruise when he landed very hard on the gun at his hip. After much pleading, he convinced the producers and the prop dept. to make a replica pistol out of rubber. Replaced by the real one only when it actually had to be fired, the fake gun remained in Blue Boy's holster for the rest of the show's run.
