Mork's Mixed Emotions - S1-E20
Orson: You opened the door to your emotions, didn't you?
Mork: Yes, Sir.
Orson: You realise you've broken the highest Orkan law. It is my duty to report you to the Council.
Mork: I understand. But I don't regret what I've done, sir. You see, for the first time in my life, I feel really alive, I feel fantastic! Oh, I wish you could try it! I wish you could feel some of the things I've been feeling!
Orson: Impossible. I could never do that. They'd throw me in prison.
Mork: Oh, I don't mean to be disrespectful, your immenseness, but until you can marvel at a rainbow after a storm or rejoice at seeing a baby walk for the first time, or hold someone and have them feel the same warmth inside as you feel close to them outside - until you can do these things, aren't you already in prison?
Trivia: Robin Williams improvised so much of his dialogue that the show's writers finally stopped writing his lines and just left blank space in the scripts with cues and prompts for him.
Suggested correction: I'm researching Mork and Mindy for a feature. Contemporary interviews say Robin Williams was given leeway to improvise but this was only about 5% of an episode. These were probably done in rehearsals and incorporated into the final scripts. It would be impossible to film each episode if Williams wholly improvised as the cameras wouldn't know if he was going to hit his marks (i.e. where any actor needs to be so is in frame) and for other cast to react to. So partly true but not the whole story.
Question: I may have this scenario slightly wrong, since I haven't seen it since the show was brand-new, but is there a scene in one episode where Mork (just him-no egg) falls from the sky and into a lake or some kind of body of water? I slightly remember this as a kid but wanted to see if I was right. Anyone know what episode this was from?
