Continuity mistake: We see a shot of the outside of Ginger's hut when she and the Skipper are first planning for the beauty contest. The door to the hut has a window in it and we can see the Skipper's hand leaning on the sill. We cut inside and suddenly Ginger is by the door and the window has vanished.

They're Off and Running - S1-E29

Other mistake: In several shots during the first turtle race, Gilligan is inexplicably wearing a wedding band (Bob Denver was married to his first wife at the time and forgot to remove it).

John Pawson

The Sound of Quacking - S1-E8

Visible crew/equipment: During the dream sequence, when Gilligan starts a showdown with Mr.Howell and the Professor, someone's face appears in the window in the background for a second, and it's none of the castaways - someone in the filming crew most likely.

Add time

Quick Before It Sinks - S2-E6

Plot hole: Gilligan admits he put the Professor's measuring stick in deeper and deeper waters to catch bigger lobster. So wouldn't the Professor have noticed the stick has been moved further out (and more than once too) in the water rather than think the island is sinking? He always had all positions and locations down to a science in many episodes, so how could this have gotten past him?

Add time

The Hunter - S3-E18

Revealing mistake: As Gilligan sits in front of a large boulder, the disguised charge that simulates a bullet strike is easily seen.

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow - S3-E8

Revealing mistake: When Gilligan is bald, you can plainly see the line of the skin wig, as well as able to see his hair under it.

Add time

Pass the Vegetables, Please - S3-E3

Other mistake: After Gilligan gets up to take the sand to Mary Ann, the camera closes in on the box lid. After it does, the picture goes into a freeze frame because the ripples in the water of the lagoon stop dead still for the few seconds until the dissolve into the next scene.

Big Man on a Little Stick - S1-E22

Continuity mistake: As the Professor sends Duke off, he gives the island's position as 110° Latitude, 10° Longitude. In "X Marks The Spot" (S1: E: 19), the position is given as 140° Latitude, 10° Longitude.

Nyet, Nyet, Not Yet - S2-E9

Continuity mistake: The professor mentions he can't drink vodka with the Russians because he's allergic to alcohol, yet in the episode "Man With A Net" (with Lord Beesley), he drinks a strong alchoholic drink he made along with everyone else with no signs of any sickness, or reaction preventing him from drinking it.

Add time

New Neighbor Sam - S1-E28

Revealing mistake: When Mr. Howell and the Professor are thrown by Gilligan and the Skipper, during the struggle you can see Gilligan flying in from the right side. But it can easily see that it is a dummy in Gilligan's clothes.

Continuity mistake: There are several shots of the island used in the series. In the opening, it appears small. In some inland shots it appears immense and mountainous, despite being described numerous times as a "tiny island somewhere in the Pacific."

Operation: Steam Heat - S2-E25

Revealing mistake: After Gilligan says his line about the earth swallowing them all up, an explosion rocks the area. Between the end of the line, and the rocking, there's a split second of blackness indicating a cut between the line and the action.

And Then There Were None - S3-E13

Continuity mistake: Whenever one of the castaways falls in the trap and "disappears", there is complete silence when their name is called out, yet when the Skipper falls in (the last of the six), suddenly Gilligan hears all their voices shouting from down below.

Add time

Show generally

Revealing mistake: Any time you see the vines used for different purposes, it's painfully obvious that they're very poorly disguised rope, such as the ones the Skipper and Professor use to rock the boat mock-up in the episode "Quick, Before It Sinks."

Three to Get Ready - S1-E30

The Friendly Physician - S2-E29

Plot hole: The scientist yells for Igor to capture the escaping Castaways, to which Igor responds "capture them yourself" in Ginger's voice. The scientist appears surprised to find out Igor is not Igor, but how can this be? He had to be the one to pull the lever to switch everyone's personalities and bodies around, so he should have already known.

Gilligan's Personal Magnetism - S3-E21

Visible crew/equipment: Toward the end, the group is around the table, talking about Gilligan. Then they see a pear and a bunch of grapes float over to a plate at the head of the table. Skipper goes over and addresses the invisible Gilligan. If you look at the top of the hut, you can see the wires used to make the fruit float. Also, earlier in the hut with Ginger, when Gilligan bit the pear, you can see the wire holding the pear as it shakes after the bite.

Our Vines Have Tender Apes - S3-E20

Audio problem: Towards the end of the episode, the castaways read Tongo's note that he can't take them back with him due to how he behaved with the gorilla. Mr. Howell yells "we won't tell anyone!" followed by other random comments from the others for Tongo to come back. Tongo leaves and as the camera pulls away from the castaways, the same audio repeats itself even though this time doesn't match what anyone is saying.

Add time

Nyet, Nyet, Not Yet - S2-E9

Plot hole: This was obviously bad script writing, but let's figure out carefully how this failed rescue attempt (by Gilligan) doesn't really make sense. The two Russians were to be picked up at 11:00. When the castaways appear at the Russians' location, the Russians are gone. Gilligan states it's 8:00 according to his watch, due to the unaware fact he set his watch to Manila time (3 hours earlier). He claims to have set his watch when it was 10:30 in Manila - Skipper then yells there's 3 hrs difference between the island and Manila, so Gilligan sets his watch ahead 3 hrs and it's now 11:00. Here's the mistake: if it was 10:30 in Manila and there's a 3 hr. difference, it would have been 1:30 on the island, and also if Gilligan's watch stated it's 8:00 now (Manila time), he would have set it to 7:30 when hearing the 10:30 announcement on Manila radio (which he didn't do). Lots of these times just don't make sense.

Add time

Man with a Net - S3-E7

Revealing mistake: Near the end of the episode, all the castaways are passed out cold when Lord Beasley finally catches his butterfly. Right after saying the line "That's the trouble with you Americans - you simply don't know how to hold your tea" as he's exiting off camera, Mrs. Howell starts to open her eyes slightly, but then quickly shuts them again. Perhaps she thought the cameras stopped rolling.

Operation: Steam Heat - S2-E25

The Producer - S3-E4

Continuity mistake: Harold Hecuba (a.k.a. H.H.) goes out to change costumes. When he comes in as Ophelia the stage door first closes behind him, then falls off the hinges. The shot cuts to the Castaways, then back to H.H., and the door is back on the hinges.

Add time

Movie Nut

Castaways Pictures Presents - S2-E7

Plot hole: This movie was made so the castaways could be rescued, but how could they be found? The map the Skipper was pointing to didn't have anything on it that could realistically show where they exactly were, and all scenes in the film wouldn't help them get found at all, just made for good laughs.

Waiting for Watubi - S1-E11

Snag.1

Show generally

Plot hole: On many different occasions, the castaways meet a wide variety of people who say that they have been on the island for either ten or more years thinking they were the only ones on the island before the SS Minnow even arrived. With so many people who had been on the island for such an extended time, it seems kind of strange that none of them had ever met one another.

Add time

Season 1 generally

Continuity mistake: When the SS Minnow is shown beached on the deserted island, it's seen leaning on its left. At the ending credits, the Minnow is shown completely upright.

You've Been Disconnected - S2-E17

Character mistake: Upon learning after the storm that the telephone cable was washed back out to sea, the Professor mentions the cable will eventually corrode and break and the Skipper says then a repair crew will have to come out and fix the cable so they'll be rescued. How? The cable is out to sea and a repair crew would never even get to the island since the cable's not there.

Add time

You've Been Disconnected - S2-E17

Plot hole: Gilligan fails the rescue attempt by saying that before the storm, he wrapped up the telephone wires real good with the professor's rubber glue so they won't get wet... But the scene before this, all castaways were testing the phone when a storm instantly hit them without warning. Gilligan wouldn't have wrapped up the wires since there was no storm til the last second (in which they all ran and abandoned the wires).

Just markers floating where the explosive is placed underwater.

Add time

Topsy-Turvy - S3-E10

Other mistake: At the end, after Mary Ann puts the pie down, and Gilligan drinks the juice, he hits the table, flipping the pie into the skipper's face. First, the Skipper starts to wince when Gilligan hits the table, preparing for the gag. Second, the pie tin defies physics by staying exactly in place on the board after the pie leaves it, and after the board bounces once and settles down. Third, Gilligan dips his finger directly into the cream on the Skipper's face, rather than missing a few times.
