Continuity mistake: The date of Helen Kimble's murder is given here as Sept. 19, 1961. Previous episodes, however, had established it as occurring on Sept. 17, 1960.
Continuity mistake: In flashback, we see the one-armed man kill Helen Kimble by striking her with a heavy lamp. All through the earlier seasons, though, we were repeatedly told that Helen had been strangled. (00:28:50)
Tiger Left, Tiger Right - S2-E6
Continuity mistake: Kimble's been kidnapped and held for ransom. He had nothing with him when he was taken, yet when he leaves the abandoned house with the kidnappers, he has a small suitcase. When they drop him off on the road, he doesn't have it. When, in the epilogue, he's shown walking, he's carrying a different, larger suitcase. (00:46:00 - 00:49:00)
Audio problem: The house Kimble and Marcie are holed up in certainly has remarkable soundproofing. There's a 100 mph hurricane raging outside, yet the moment they close the door, it's completely quiet inside. Throughout the episode, the storm sounds are audible only faintly, and only when the hurricane is relevant to the story line. (00:09:00 - 00:20:15)
Never Wave Goodbye (2) - S1-E5
Continuity mistake: In Part 1, Kimble worried about Gerard tracing him by a match he left behind. We got a close-up when he tore the match out of the book: it was the 3rd in a row of 5. But here, as he looks at the matchbook and worries again, the close-up shows the only match missing from the book is the 5th one. (00:02:00)
Revealing mistake: During the race through the desert in Annie's Jeep, the rear-screen projection couldn't be more obvious. In the supposedly speeding vehicle, Annie's hair is blowing slightly, but Kimble's never moves at all. (00:35:30)
Continuity mistake: Throughout the show's early episodes, Helen Kimble's dress on the night she was murdered was described as blue or blue-gray. Here, in the flashback to the murder, she's wearing an evening gown that isn't blue or gray, but pink. (00:27:45)
Wife Killer - S3-E17
Factual error: The Baker City Herald's office door misspells the word "personnel" with a sign reading, "Authorized Personel Only." Pretty poor editing for a newspaper office. (00:29:25)
Continuity mistake: Ralph's brother hits him over the head with a bottle, which shatters. When Kimble runs past the same spot a few shots later, though, the broken glass is gone. (00:43:30)
Factual error: This is the only episode in which we see Kimble hotwire and steal a car. But he does it in seconds (two whole decades before MacGyver), with nothing but a foil cigarette package liner. Not likely. He'd need a screw driver or pocket knife, at the very least. (00:35:30)
Factual error: Harry falls overboard from the boat's port side. Kimble sees this happen, yet in the next shot, he runs to the starboard side to look for some sign of Harry in the water. (00:04:40)
Angels Travel on Lonely Roads (2) - S1-E22
Visible crew/equipment: After Kimble finishes stacking wood in the barn and is putting his shirt back on, the boom shadow moves across the wooden chair hanging on the wall behind him. (00:25:00)
Continuity mistake: Dan tosses a silver dollar into the puddle of water and we see it sink. A few shots later, though, the coin is visible again, impossibly "floating" on the puddle's surface. (00:05:20)
Continuity mistake: The wine crates on Kimble's hand truck in the opening scenes shift positions by themselves between takes. (00:02:25)
Continuity mistake: Kimble and Chris are on a busy freeway with several other cars when a police car pulls them over. But when they stop, the other cars all vanish and the road is suddenly deserted. (00:36:50)
The Girl from Little Egypt - S1-E14
Visible crew/equipment: In the flashback to the night of Helen's murder, Kimble drives to the deserted lake after their argument. When he opens the car door, the wing window reflects several film crew members very clearly, including one person's arm and wristwatch. (00:11:50)
Continuity mistake: Kimble's wanted poster in this episode lists his birthplace as Beloit, Wisconsin. In every other episode featuring close-ups of the poster, Kimble's birthplace is Stafford, Indiana. (00:41:40)
Revealing mistake: The stunt man's face can be seen during Kimble's fight with Ralph outside the hospital. (00:44:00)
Visible crew/equipment: In the middle of the desert, the side of the white van Kimble drives captures the image of two huge rectangular studio light reflectors. (00:04:55)
Revealing mistake: At the beginning, the stunt man seen running toward the train in profile (when Kimble jumps aboard the freight car) is very easy to spot. (00:01:50)
Answer: Production vehicle models aren't in sync with the calendar year. The '65 Mustang began production in March 1964 and first sold in April 1964, before it was "introduced" the following year. I don't know which model was seen in the episode, but the 2+2 fastback was sold in September 1964. The 1964 film "Goldfinger" uses a 1965 Mustang as part of Ford's product placement. Basically, in the 1930's, FDR ordered automakers to release vehicles in the fall of the preceding calendar year "as a means of facilitating regularization of employment in the industry." Now, automakers can release new models as early as Jan 2 of the preceding year.
