Question: Why is this the Season Finale episode instead of a Season premiere episode? When we watch the first episode, Crazy Love, Jean-Luc is already a part of the main storyline. This episode would've been great because it not only gently introduced Jean-Luc and the upcoming new salon, as well as telling the backstory. Did they ever explain what their reason for this was?

1 question in season 6
Starring: Patrick Duffy, Brandon Call, Suzanne Somers, Staci Keanan
Genres: Comedy
Deliberate mistake: Lily was an infant for all of season 5, but beginning with this season, she is around 5 years old. The show didn't jump forward in time, because JT states in a season 5 episode that he is 19, and in the episode this season where he and Rich go to Mexico, he states that he is almost 20, as well as Al and Mark are both still in high school.
Gabrielle, Mark's girlfriend: Be still, my heart.
J.T: Be still, my lunch.

Answer: ABC aired the episodes out of order. There doesn't appear to be an official reason for it, but a Google search suggests it had to do with the season debuting in a mid-season slot with other TGIF shows already having begun airing their new episodes months earlier, and ABC was just essentially "burning off" Step by Step's episodes.
