Trivia: The EastEnders set is built on the same spot that the "German" building site used in the first series of Auf Weidersen Pet, was located. If you look carefully you'll notice that the flats in the background are the same ones in both programmes.

Trivia: When the new set was built in 2022/23, to fit the available space, Albert Square was rotated 90 degrees, with the north side of the square becoming the east side. This has resulted in the direction of shadows changing in episodes filmed on the new set.

Trivia: 23 July 2009: In this episode, Ruth Gemmell plays Debra, the mother of Ryan (Neil McDermott). In real life, Gemmell is only thirteen years older than McDermott.

Question: Why in the kitchen at the Masoods' house do they have a 4 gang light switch? 1 would be for the main light. There are no under cabinet lights, the outside lights wouldn't be switched from here either. I'm an electrician and every time I see the switch it annoys me.

Answer: Most likely a mistake by the set designers or it's a recycled set which already had the switch on (they just repaint and add other fittings).

At my workplace there is a two-gang switch with a three-gang switch underneath it, one of which is for the shop lights, the other four have no apparent use.
