Continuity mistake: Kim Bauer has a full set of glittery pink disco nails on episode one (midnight) but then these are not visible at all in most episodes. In the 2pm episode her nails look clean/natural in nearly all the shots, apart from during the phone call with Rick where traces of pink glitter can be seen. I know she's had a very rough night but it doesn't explain the amount of damage her nails have sustained.
Continuity mistake: When Jack is outside Dunlop Plaza, talking to Nina on the phone, he says, "Nina, it's Jack." But the transcript Tony looks at a few seconds later reads, "Nina, it's me, Jack." (00:17:15 - 00:18:00)
Continuity mistake: Shortly after the clock display reads 01:44, the time is shown again... and it's 01:42. (00:29:20 - 00:30:25)
Continuity mistake: When Richard is shot and on the floor, there is a blood blob above his shirt pocket that keeps disappearing and reappearing. (00:35:10)
Continuity mistake: At about 2:15am, when Jack's talking to Nina about the passenger list on the plane, we see a shot of Jack in the top left, and Nina in the top right. Because it's real time they're both meant to match up - we're watching them both at the same time. In each shot we can see the back of the other's head, but while Jack is looking down and around in the left-hand shot, in the right-hand shot his head is staying perfectly still. (00:15:51)
Continuity mistake: When Alan gets out the car to ask the cop to speed things up his car door is open or closed depending on the shot. (00:15:15)
Continuity mistake: When Jack drives to 18166 San Fernando Road he stops the car, gets out and leaves his phone in the car - you can see the green light of the phone's screen - he didn't reach for it. However, when Teri calls him, he has the phone in his pocket.
Continuity mistake: The show claims to be in real time, and although those viewers who aren't too eagle-eyed will argue that it is, there is undisputed evidence in this episode that it isn't accurate. After the final ad break, the clock reads 03:52. At least two minutes later, when we see Teri and "Alan York" turn a corner in their car, the clock is displayed at the bottom of the screen, and it is still 03:52. The same sort of thing happens earlier in the episode, when there is a good ten minutes or so between when the clock says 03:26 and when it says 03:30.
Continuity mistake: The clock just tells the viewer that it is 4:40am. Sen. Palmer interrogates his son about the rape of his daughter. In the room, there is a clock that shows 4:57am instead. (00:27:43)
Continuity mistake: When Teri is talking to Alan about Kim failing Algebra, she has her hand on her bag in one shot and on her coffee in the next. (00:31:40)
Continuity mistake: When Alan tells Teri he will stay with her until they find Kim, Teri's bag strap falls off her shoulder. Camera changes and the strap is back up on her shoulder. (00:32:30)
Continuity mistake: Dan is shot at chest height in the previous episode. In this episode the gunshot is to the head. (00:04:20)
Continuity mistake: When Mrs Palmer is walking towards the senator, she has her left arm outstretched in the front shot and not in the rear shot. (00:15:00)
Continuity mistake: During season one of 24, Jack answers his mobile to Gaines and we see footage of Jack on a CCTV camera. The CCTV footage shows medical staff moving, yet when they cut back to the camera in the hall the medical staff are in different places, they keep changing places and keep disappearing and re-appearing and the CCTV footage is about two seconds ahead of the footage in the corridor. Continuity mistake: When Dan's body is put in the grave, his shirt is only slightly raised up his chest. When they start filling the grave in, his shirt is raised a lot higher. (00:37:00)
