Other mistake: The police is searching the crime scene of the supposed suicide. The police was alerted because the suicide happened by drowning, leaving the bathtub running till it overflew alerting the other people in the building. The body of the victim is still completely immersed in the bathtub (nobody drained it), and Kindaichi and Aoi walk on a dry floor while there should be a massive flooding.

Other mistake: In this episode, we learn that Kindaichi can't swim. However, the series is a continuation of the first one from 1997: in a few instances (the Ghost Passenger Ship Murder Case, The Kidnapping of Reika Hayami Murder Case, with Reika appearing as a key character here) Kindaichi could swim just fine and in fact would bravely dive in the ocean to save someone and swim downstream in a mountain river when gravely injured, respectively.

Other mistake: On the plane, Akechi is reading, according to the dialogue, an "English newspaper." The newspaper is called "Global Times", but it's not supposed to be the real life one, which is a Chinese newspaper (albeit with an english edition); the logo is different. However, for being a Western-style newspaper (which is what Kindaichi calls Akechi out for), its front page is positioned wrong, like a Japanese newspaper.

Other mistake: Saki was filming the table from his seat, and he couldn't have got close-ups of the soup bowls from the angle proposed. (00:04:45)

Other mistake: When Saki shows the picture of Ran's butt, the photo is taken from the right of the girl. In the scene during the previous episode, Saki was standing on Hajime's left, and he could never take that shot from that angle.

Other mistake: When Busujima tells the real story of what happened 3 years before, the bathtub in the background drained completely, but nobody removed the drain stopper, which in fact is in frame and perfectly placed. (00:10:55)

Other mistake: When Kindaichi shows his phone with the incriminating evidence, the phone's charge is at 60%, exactly the same charge it had last time we saw the same phone screenshot for the same purpose in the previous episode.
