Corrected entry: When Max is revealed as the head vampire, Star makes the realization that "YOU'RE the secret David was protecting" but there is no previous reference anywhere in the movie to a secret that David is protecting.

Correction: Just because we didn't see it, doesn't mean it didn't happen. David could've mentioned something about it off camera, or a long time ago (there's no mention of how long he's known Star for, the mention of a "secret" could've been years ago for all we know). Definitely not a mistake.
