Continuity mistake: When the recruits are going to attend to the riot, Mahoney is on the bus wearing a brown uniform, as he has just been dismissed by Lieutenant Harris. However, later on, when he is rescuing Harris from the rooftop, he is wearing the regular uniform.

Suggested correction: Mahoney is always wearing the blue uniform; there wouldn't be two colors of a uniform, they're designed to match.
The original commenter is correct. He is definitely wearing a brown uniform on the bus, but a blue uniform later on.
On the bus, it is blue, but on the street after they are deployed, it is brown, then blue for the rest of the movie.
There are two colours of uniforms among the cadets: black and dark blue. Mahoney is wearing a slightly faded black uniform. It looks slightly different on the bus because of the sun partially coming in through the window. When he stands in the sun, the uniform looks slightly more brown because of the direct sunlight.
