Other mistake: A vehicle bought at a NYPD auction must be paid for in cash, including tax. Ballena won the auction with his $60,000 bid for the Navigator, but it did not appear that Ballena was carrying that amount of cash on him. (He was not carrying a bag or briefcase.) If Ballena did have the $60,000 plus tax in cash, it would have taken some time for it to be counted before the paperwork could be completed, but no money was shown during the process. (01:05:03)

Factual error: Lea went into the (locked) Navigator in the tow pound (where she works) to get a sample of the stashed heroin. Craig, with Lea's help, was able to get to the Navigator before Ballena (who "won" the auction) and drive away from the tow pound. However, they would not have keys because towed impounded vehicles do not have keys (unless the keys were left in the vehicle, which would be unlikely in this case because $15 million worth of heroin was stashed inside). Continuity mistake: The garage door was raised about a foot, but views of Craig sitting on the floor after he hit Lea show the door up about three times as high (to his nose), letting in more light. (01:17:52)

Plot hole: Lea has a criminal record, which includes theft. Lea told Casi, "You know how hard it is to live with a rap sheet hanging over you? How hard I had to hustle to even get a shit job at the tow pound?" Later, Casi made a reference to "most thieves" and Lea responded she's "not like most thieves." The tow pound is operated by the NYPD, so it is extremely unlikely that Lea would have been hired given her theft record, especially for a position that handles money/cash. (00:19:45 - 00:35:25)

Other mistake: In a voice over, Casi said, " I am a public defender. And there are only 15,000 of me for the 10.5 million people who were arrested last year in America." The statistics may not be accurate (the FBI's UCR lists an estimated 10,085,207 arrests in 2019), but it is his general statement that is misleading. Not all arrestees will be represented by a public defender - many will hire private defense attorneys. The inference of a 1,000 caseload per year exaggerates the actual of 50-590. (00:01:09)

Trivia: "Singularities" are infinitely dense points. When something is compressed to the point of having a volume of ZERO, its density is thought of as being infinite - in other words, a "singularity." A typical example is the inside (center) of a black hole. A huge star - that once had a large mass - was reduced to nothing, but that "nothing" has a density that is infinite. It is at a point of "no return" (an event horizon), so is not visible. BUT "naked singularities" could exist - and be visible.

Stupidity: Lea had two "Notice of Auction" printouts (the correct one and the one she lied about to detectives) in her small purse when she had Casi meet her at a restaurant. Lea excused herself to go to the bathroom but did not take her purse with her. Women almost always take their purses with them and Lea should have, considering she had papers inside she didn't want Casi to see. While Lea was gone, Casi looked at the printouts and then knew Lea was lying to him about the Navigator's auction date. (00:32:33 - 00:35:04)

Factual error: Unless left in the vehicle (not the case here), towed impounded vehicles do not have keys. Moreover, lacking keys, a valid registration, possibly proof of insurance, and new plates, vehicles bought at a NYPD auction are to be TOWED away. A newly-purchased auctioned vehicle, such as the Navigator in the movie, is "ticket-" or "citation-ready", not ready to be driven on the streets.

Stupidity: After Casi changed the tracker on the Navigator, he was sneaking between vehicles to get out of the tow pound. The Whale came and stood in front of the two vehicles Casi was between. Casi stood up and, instead of turning around and running away, rushed TOWARD The Whale in an attempt to get past him. The Whale, much bigger, threw Casi against a vehicle and then onto the garage floor. (01:03:34).
