The Mummy (1999)

Corrected entry: When the Magi is set on fire, both he and Johnathan lunge for the key. If you look closely, you can see that it is actually the Magi who picks it up from the angle and condition of the hand/arm that grabs it. Yet, later on, Johnathan mysteriously has it.

Correction: We are told in the beginning that Jonathan is a thief therefore he just pick-pocketed the magi to get it back.

Correction: Honestly, the way the scene is cut is a little wonky, but I always just took it as the Magi dropped the key while he was being shot and spinning/writhing around and Jonathan quickly grabbed it off-screen. Right after the Magi is shot and falls off the boat, Jonathan (who wasn't holding the key prior) says "Bloody good show, chaps... and did I panic? I think not!" and then holds up the key, which as I said, he wasn't holding before. I wouldn't say he pickpocketed it since the guy was on fire and Jonathan was actively fleeing him. I'm only speculating... but I also have to imagine that there was some footage cut of Jonathan getting it back that was simply eliminated for time/pace reasons.

Correction: When one of the Americans shoots that magi later while trying to attack Jonathan, Jonathan shows us that he pick pocketed the key, and says "this is mine" or something like that.

The Mummy (1999)

Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where Rick is beating up Beni in the Egyptologist's office, as Rick throws him on the desk, there is a flash of light that has no visible source, and a metallic clink can be heard off to the right. (01:17:50)

Suggested correction: If you look closely, Rick actually knocked a lamp off the table when he throws Beni on it, and it hit the ground and popped... hence the flash of light and "clink" sound. You can briefly see it in this video at about 34 seconds in, right as Beni hits the table. It's a sort-of gold color and it's right behind Rick and Beni. Https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dL3zacTLLJQ.

The Mummy (1999)

Trivia: The 1999 film was not a remake of the Boris Karloff classic, but a remake of the 1968 film McKenna's Gold which starred Gregory Peck and Omar Sharif, thinly disguised and transferred from the American southwest to the valley of the Nile.

Suggested correction: True, the two films have some notable similarities, but it's a stretch to say that "The Mummy" is a straight-up remake of "McKenna's Gold" and not the original "Mummy." At most, maybe a trivia entry noting the most notable similarities would be interesting.

The Mummy (1999)

Corrected entry: As Benny drags his bags of loot out of the temple, there's suddenly a bunch of camels chained up outside. O'Connell and the crew flew in on a plane, Evie and Benny came by sandstorm, so who brought the camels?

Doc

Correction: As the other correction states, this entry was already submitted and corrected. But to briefly elaborate, those are camels from the earlier expedition, which were abandoned at the city. Remember, quite a few people died, and they were forced to flee quickly, so they obviously didn't take all the camels with them. Simple as that.

Correction: There's already an entry about this in the Corrections section.
