Trivia: This episode had a strong Dukes of Hazard theme as it reunited John Schneider (Jonathan Kent) and Tom Wopat (Senator Jack Jennings) who played Bo and Luke Duke respectively in the Dukes of Hazard. This included stunt driving by Jon Schneider, and him listening to "Good Ole Boys", the DoH theme song.

Trivia: Lois is dressed in a Star Wars storm trooper uniform (from Star Wars episode IV) as she approaches Chloe, she says 'I can't see a thing in this helmet' as she takes off the helmet - the same as Luke Skywalker says when he first meets Leia in Star Wars episode IV.

Trivia: Jerry Siegel, the co-creator of the Clark Kent/Superman character worked on a school magazine when he was at Glenville High School, Cleveland. The magazine was called The Torch - the same name of Smallville High's school magazine, edited by Chloe Sullivan and with Clark Kent as an on/off contributor.
