Tangled (2010)

Question: I have a few questions. 1) Did Mother Gothel betray the Stabbington Brothers by knocking them unconscious? 2) How did Eugene know that the old lady was Mother Gothel once the Stabbington Brothers told him that? 3) How did Eugene get the idea that Rapunzel was in trouble once he thought of the old lady?

Answer: 1) Yes, she double-crossed them and left them to be arrested. 2) Rapunzel had already described to Eugene that her "mother" was overbearing. When the Stabbington Brothers describe being double-crossed by an old lady he puts two and two together. 3) Because Gothel hired two notorious criminals (whom Eugene is well acquainted with) to kidnap Rapunzel, he assumed that meant she was in trouble.

Tangled (2010)

Question: How did mother Gothel know the flower song?

Answer: Presumably she is the one who made up the song in the first place.

Answer: She's a descendant of Zhan Tiri and has been studying the sundrop and moonstone her whole life so she most likely found the healing incantation part of the Demanitus Scroll and learned it from that.

Tangled (2010)

Question: After Flynn decides to give his satchel to the Stabbington Brothers so they can give him a boost, how did he obtain the satchel when he was climbing them?

Answer: We are not shown exactly how he gets the satchel back for comedic purposes. Presumably he just reached around and quickly grabbed it as he was climbing.

Tangled (2010)

Question: I have two questions in reference to Flynn and Gothel. 1) When Flynn is arrested, he believes Rapunzel has been abducted by the Stabbington Brothers. Later, while he is being taken to the gallows, Flynn sees the Stabbington Brothers in their cell and questions them on how they knew Rapunzel's hair is magic. One of them responds, "It wasn't us. It was the old lady," referring to Gothel. Seeing how he rides Maximus to the tower where Gothel hides Rapunzel after escaping, how did Flynn figure Rapunzel would be there without getting no information to confirm? 2) When Gothel stabs Flynn, why does she tell Rapunzel she's to blame for Flynn's impending death?

John Ohman

Chosen answer: 1) Flynn knows the tower is where Rapunzel and her "mother" live, going back there is the only logical place to search for Rapunzel. 2) She meant it was her fault for leaving the tower and dragging Flynn into the situation, which led him to his fate.
