Continuity mistake: When Emma is wearing the red dress in "Pilot", she has a mole on her chest. In this episode, which takes place two days later, when she's in her white tank top, the mole is gone; this is best seen when Graham is taking mug shots of Emma, and she says "He's terrified of her, like everyone else in this town." This is probably due to the fact that in real life, Jennifer Morrison has had several moles removed from her body. However, there was no time for Emma to do the same, and even if there were, she'd have a fresh scar or stitches.(00:20:30)
Continuity mistake: Aboard The Jolly Roger, when Emma is keeping past Hook occupied while future Hook skulks around the room, in a wide shot, future Hook sneaks past a corner. In the next shot, he begins to sneak past the very same corner again.
Continuity mistake: When Emma is making out with past Hook while future Hook skulks around the room attempting to stay hidden, in the second shot, Emma's back is facing the stairs/ladder, her hand gripping Hook's coat. In the next shot, her back is facing the table, and her hand is on Hook's shoulder.(00:33:20)
Continuity mistake: When Emma changes clothes in the Enchanted Forest, as she puts on gloves, in the wide shot, she begins to put the glove on her left hand. In the following close-up, her left hand is bare, and she's putting the glove on her right hand.(00:18:15)
Continuity mistake: While Henry and his family are gathered around the table at Granny's, the amount of juice in the glass sitting on the table keeps rising and falling.(00:06:50)
Continuity mistake: When Zelena loses the Dark One's Dagger, it lands on the ground, the patterned side of the blade facing upwards. When Regina picks up the dagger, the patterned side is facing downwards.(00:28:10 - 00:29:20)
Continuity mistake: The blade on the Dark One's Dagger has one side with the name of the Dark One inscribed, while the other side is decorated with a pattern. Throughout the entire series, the name keeps switching from one side of the blade to the other. In some scenes, the writing is right side up when the dagger is held in the left hand and facing the wielder, with the first letter of the Dark One's name next to the hilt: This happens, for example, when Rumplestiltskin finds the dagger in "Desperate Souls", when Mr. Gold gives the knife to August in "The Return", when Gold summons the wraith in "Broken", when Cora has the dagger in "The Miller's Daughter", when Zelena controls Mr. Gold in "The Tower", when Gold triumphantly shows the dagger to Zelena in "Kansas", when Belle controls Mr. Gold with the dagger in "Heroes and Villains", when Emma summons the first Dark One in "Nimue", when Mr. Gold shows Emma the new version of the dagger in "Swan Song" and when Weaver is holding the dagger at the Hyperion Height police station in "Eloise Gardener." In other scenes, the characters are right side up when the dagger is facing the wielder and held in the right hand, with the first letter near the tip of the blade: For example, when Rumplestiltskin summons Zoso in "Desperate Souls", when Cora steals the knife in "The Queen Is Dead", when Gold uses the dagger in "Going Home", when Regina picks it up in "Kansas", when Gold hides the dagger in "Snow Drifts", when Gold opens the sorcerer's hat box in "A Tale of Two Sisters", when the dagger is lying on the stone in Emma's basement at the end of "Nimue", when the potion is poured onto the blade in "Strange Case" and during the ritual in the cave in "The Guardian."
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Snow is in Emma's nursery room, trying to convince Charming to talk to Rumplestiltskin, the shots have been flipped. The easiest way to spot this is Charming's scar, which is on the wrong side of his face.(00:10:30)
Continuity mistake: When Hook is at the beach with Henry, after he says to him, "Fair enough, mate", the pendant on Hook's necklace goes from resting against his chest, to being partially tucked under his waistcoat. In the close-ups, the pendant is completely covered by the waistcoat.(00:26:50)
Continuity mistake: In beginning of the scene where Regina pays a visit to the Sheriff Department, the darts on and around the dartboard change position between the close-up of the dartboard, and the wide shot where Emma bends down to pick up a dart.(00:22:05)
Continuity mistake: When Graham is arguing with Emma at the beginning of the episode, in the very first shot outside Granny's, they are approaching a shop called Worthington's Haberdashery. As the shot ends, they are still a few meters away from it, but in the next shot, they are already in front of it.(00:01:50)
Continuity mistake: Sidney's newspaper article in 1-8 "Desperate Souls" stated that Emma was arrested in Worcester, Massachusetts in 1996. However, this is directly contradicted in this episode, which shows that Emma was actually arrested in Portland, eleven years before the frame story, meaning that the arrest took place in 2001 (since "Selfless, Brave and True" establishes that Emma arrived in Storybrooke in October 2011, and the frame story of "Tallahassee" takes place a few months later, in 2012; the year 2001 is confirmed in 3-22 "There's No Place Like Home").(00:17:55)
Continuity mistake: When Bossy is cutting Dreamy's beard, Dreamy asks "Who was the woman I saw?" and Bossy stops cutting, but a couple of shots later, Dreamy's beard is suddenly much shorter.(00:10:00)
Continuity mistake: When Graham offers Emma the job as a deputy sheriff, when he gives her his card, you can see two women a few meters behind Emma, walking on the pavement, toward the camera. In the next shot of Emma, only a few seconds later, the women are still walking in the same direction, but they are much further away from her than in the previous shot.(00:16:15)
Continuity mistake: When Emma jumps from the beanstalk and hits the ground, Mary Margaret turns her head to look at her. In the next shot, she turns her head again.(00:38:20)
Continuity mistake: On the plane, Henry is eating baked goods from Cinnabon's. The size and position of the stains of frosting inside the box changes after he says "The only thing that could make this day any better, is more frosting."(00:40:25)
Continuity mistake: When Belle is watching TV at the Storybrooke hospital, her hair, hanging in front of her shoulders, changes position between the wide shots and the close-ups.(00:10:20)
Continuity mistake: Emma Swan has a flower tattoo on her left wrist. It can be glimpsed during her date with Ryan, and is visible when she's sitting at the table with Mary Margaret in "The Thing You Love Most", and when she's on the phone with Ruby in "Red-Handed." However, when she opens the door for Henry in "Pilot", the tattoo is gone. The same thing happens when she unlocks the door to her room at the inn in "The Thing You Love Most" (in the scene where she is evicted), and when she's pressing a pack of ice against her wound in "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter."
Continuity mistake: In the giant's treasure room, there are many giant gold coins near the skeleton of Jack the Giant Killer. The amount and position of the coins repeatedly changes. For example, when they find the skeleton, there are several coins on the edge of a small dais, but when Emma saves Hook from the trip wire, they are missing.(00:24:40)
Continuity mistake: When Emma is arrested, she has a flower tattoo on her left wrist. When she's climbing the beanstalk with Hook, in a few shots, her wrist is bare, and you can see that the tattoo is missing; this happens, for example, when she remarks, "You should be used to people not trusting you."(00:09:10 - 00:29:30)
