True Lies (1994)

Corrected entry: When Harry is being interrogated by Samir, he gets drugged with something he refers to as sodium amytal (amobarbital) which is a treatment for insomnia and not a truth agent as Harry refers to it as. (01:33:46)

Tony

Correction: To date, I don't believe there are any reliable "truth serums." Substances/barbituates used as so-called "truth serums" basically slow down messages to the brain, thereby (in theory) making it more difficult for some people to lie because lying requires thinking/ concentration. Sodium Amytal may still be referred to as a "truth serum", but is no longer used for this purpose. (Some people developed false memories). You are correct, however, that it may be used for insomnia because it is a sedative.

Independence Day (1996)

Corrected entry: When the president is in the air force bunker inspecting the spaceship, Dr Oken states that the scientists have been repairing it since the late 60's. The president says they've had it for 40 years and know nothing about it. That would mean that the movie would've been set in 2006 and not '96. (01:08:50)

Tony

Correction: No, they've had it since the Roswell crash in the 40s, he says they only figured it out enough to repair it since the 60s.

Con Air (1997)

Corrected entry: The Jailbird is supposed to be state of the art super max facility, but the guards don't scan the prisoners for pins, which some of the prisoners use to escape from their handcuffs.

Tony

Correction: Cyrus had a pin inserted into his hand. There is no way to scan for that. Pinball had something in his stomach. They had concealed their means of escape very well. Not even a plot hole if they didn't scan for it anyway, just a human mistake to not see something that is concealed.

lionhead

Corrected entry: John uses a machine to hack into Sarah's bank account. If Sarah was arrested and placed in a psychiatric unit, her bank account would've been suspended, meaning John couldn't withdraw the 300 bucks even if he did hack into It. (01:17:10 - 01:17:50)

Tony

Correction: It isn't her account. He says the card is stolen, and that he learnt how to do it from Sarah.

Corrected entry: Rambo throws a rock at the helicopter's windshield and it cracks. Helicopter windshields are made of Plexiglas, which is impossible to break with a little rock.

Tony

Correction: Throw a rock hard enough and plexiglass will still crack. Tempered glass, like windshields in cars, will look shattered if hit by a rock, as they're designed to not have huge slabs of glass come in to cut people up. Side windows don’t fall apart due to a plastic layer in the middle to keep it together, but still shatters. If it was lexan, it would not have cracked, probably. But it is doubtful they were making helicopter windshields out of lexan back then. Without knowing exactly what the windshield was made of, it can’t be assumed that it would not crack from a thrown rock.
