Trivia: When the Death Star explodes, there is a view from the forest moon of Endor. Many bits of debris fly around. One of them, at the bottom right, is doll-shaped.

Trivia: This film was supposed to be called "The Vengeance of Khan". They changed the title because of the rumor that "Return of the Jedi" was going to be called "Revenge of the Jedi" and released the following year.

Revealing mistake: During the lightsaber duel, Vader throws his at Luke. The catwalk behind Luke explodes, but if you watch closely there are two explosions: one some inches over where the lightsaber actually hits and one far on the left.

Other mistake: When R2-D2 cuts the net, only Han, Luke, and Chewbacca fall from it. Maybe C3P0 would have held for a moment because his leg was stuck in the net, but R2 was right over the hole.

Revealing mistake: When Luke, Han, and Chewbacca attack the prison of the Death Star, in one shot, the end of the corridor is in a slope while it is supposed to be horizontal. (It looks to me like it's actually a flat panel painted to look like the corridor. The angle looks perfect for the opening shot of them entering the prison floor, it just looks "off" for any other angle.) This is fixed on DVD.

Continuity mistake: During the final battle, when some moving ships explode, the fire and the debris suddenly stay stationary.

Dr Wilson

Continuity mistake: When Luke and Vader enter the Emperor's throne chamber, the stars behind him move really fast. Later, they move in a normal way.

Dr Wilson

Revealing mistake: When Leia takes a speeder to chase the stormtrooopers, there is an SFX box around it and it makes no shadow on the ground.

Continuity mistake: When the Millennium Falcon escapes from the Death Star, each time we see Chewbacca, the sky behind him is dark grey with a few stars rather than black and and full of stars. Some shots later, the sky is normal.

Revealing mistake: On the Death Star, before Luke and Leia try to cross the pit, Luke shoots a panel to close the door. Firstly, he shoots beside it, and secondly, after it explodes, no electronic components are visible in it.
