Corrected entry: It is highly unlikely that a college-educated captain in the Air Force who was selected over her peers to be the aide to a three star general wouldn't have some idea what the word terraforming means. Despite that, Captain Ferris is ignorant of the meaning of the word when Dr. Hamilton concludes that the World Engine is terraforming the planet. Likely just an excuse for Dr. Hamilton to explain to the audience what terraforming is, but it was still out of place for a character of her education level. (01:44:50)

Correction: Terraforming isn't a common subject in pretty much any college, as it's far beyond anything we are capable of. You'd be more likely to know about it from science fiction. Either way, something being unlikely doesn't make it a mistake.
