It turns out that Cox was just sweating profusely under his mask from multiple takes of carrying Jon Bernthal up the hill, with some of the sweat trickling down near his eyes.

Trivia: When Daredevil rescues the child, during one of the takes, a 28-year-old assistant director was used as a stand-in for Daredevil to pick up, as the child was no longer allowed to be on set for the rest of the day of shooting.

Trivia: Wilson Fisk's code-name of Kingpin isn't acquired until season 2. However, his eventual nom de guerre is foreshadowed in season 1 by the way of Ben Urich's cork-board in his office, which features a king of diamonds playing card pinned to it.
