Half Light (2006)

Question: Since Rachel's husband and friend were revealed to be bad guys, was it the husband who left the gate unlocked? (Instead of Rachel).

Shipper

Question: Did the Professor and the other 2 guys working with him in Scotland survive?

Shipper

Answer: It's highly implied they did not.

Half Light (2006)

Continuity mistake: Rachel asks why the boats are the same color as the houses. The reply is so the wife can look out and see her husband is OK. In the 1st scene of Rachel's cabin, It is white. Yet her boat is a solid color, med blue. Then in a later scene, it shows her cabin as blue, the same color as her boat. Then in all the later scenes, the cabin is white, again.

Ever After (1998)

Question: When the Evil Stepmother wakes up Danielle (who is hungover, from being with Henry and the gypsies the night before), and asks Jacqueline to boil water, why? And what was done with it? Nothing was ever explained about the boiling water. I don't believe Evil Stepmother had Jacqueline boil water to make their breakfast with. She wouldn't have relented that easily. The very next scene has Danielle getting water from the well, looking fine.

Shipper

Answer: It could be a daily chore and for a variety of reasons such as providing the step-mother and step-sister hot water for their morning wash; sanitizing drinking water, making tea, etc.

raywest

Answer: Near the beginning of the movie after Danielle comes back from whipping apples at Henry, the stepmother and sisters are having breakfast. At the beginning of the scene Marguerite says, "I wanted one four minute egg, not four one minute eggs and where in GOD'S NAME IS OUR BREAD!" Therefore the boiling water was probably to make hard boiled eggs for their breakfast.

Answer: I think the boiling water part was to actually boil water for the breakfast.

Disagree. She isn't the type to relent and tell Jaqueline to boil water, for their breakfast. The tone that the evil stepmother uses, suggests some specific use of the boiling water to punish Danielle, somehow.

Shipper

Answer: Disagree. The Stepmother says it, in too resolutely a manner as if she has a specific purpose for the boiling water. As if it will be used as a punishment on Danielle, somehow. Btw, it can't be related to the whipping, either, as that doesn't happen till a few scenes later. Script error?

Shipper

Probably not a script error but something explaining this may have been edited out post-filming. It's typical in movies that filmed scenes are later deleted entirely or partially edited during post-production for a variety of reasons-to cut down the film's running time, speed up the action, etc. As a result, it often leaves small plot inconsistencies.

Factual error: When Mother Superior announces those girls who wish to stay and join the convent, she states they will join the Novitiate. Actually, not correct. Their 1st step is called Aspirancy / Pre-Candidacy Then Postulancy / Candidacy THEN they are a Novice, for a few years, before taking Final Vows to be a Full Nun.

Question: In the beginning, the parents are on the phone and the wife is asking her husband to take their son to the airport. They live in separate houses in the same city yet it seems like they are still married. Are they divorced? Or are they married but live in separate houses?

Shipper

Answer: They are estranged (possibly divorced) and living apart. As they have a son together, they would still maintain a relationship as co-parents. It should be noted that a cliched trope often seen in disaster movies (i.e. Twister, Independence Day, Outbreak, Jurassic Park 3, etc.) is to have a high-powered married couple who have either separated or divorced. They still love each other but have split due to professional conflicts. Usually some extreme crisis eventually brings them together, causing them to reaffirm their feelings for each other and they reunite.

Equals (2015)

Trivia: In the Big Brother nature of the movie, Silas and Nia would've been caught the 1st time they were alone in the restroom. I am sure that there are cameras in every single room as well as each person is fitted with a GPS tracker and their both staying late would have been noted.

Rosemary's Baby (1968)

Question: What is the name of the melody that Mia Farrow sings (La La La Laaaa, La La La Lalala La Laaaaa) at the beginning of the movie, as the title/credits are being displayed?

Shipper

Chosen answer: It doesn't have a specific title. It was a lullaby written for the film by Krzysztof Komeda. There's a few variations of the lullaby heard throughout the film, the opening credits version is listed as "Rosemary's Baby Main Theme - Vocal."

Legend (1985)

Trivia: During the making of the film, the directors had real birds populate the forest set (one of the largest sets ever built for a movie). One day it was suddenly destroyed by an accidental fire. (No one was hurt, and all the birds flew out safely). They had to rebuild the entire set and continue filming.

Donnie Darko (2001)

Trivia: In the scene when the English Teacher is packing to leave her job, and Donnie asks about the meaning of 'Cellar Door' written on the board. She responds 'A famous Linguist once found those were the 2 most beautiful words in the English Language'. The Linguist she was referring to: J.R.R. Tolkien, (author of 'The Lord of The Rings' trilogy).
