Okay it is a 70's-80's movie where this one area has been contaminated with something and the animals that are there get really mutated. The only things I remember was a mutated bear was attacking some peoples tents, and that a woman became contaminated because she ate a fish.

General questions

I have a very vague memory of what I think is an episode from a British TV show. One of the main characters is transporting a criminal of some sort, via car, to somewhere else. The criminal (I think) is a nice man, I think he's a con-man, and he's friendly to the main character. After a while the criminal guy finds out the main character is having some kind of relationship or other social problem, and helps them out. I'm pretty sure this happens on a motorway service station. The episode ends with the criminal guy escaping but leaving behind a note saying he's sorry that he had to. I also remember something about the criminal guy conning someone out of the proper amount of change after buying something from a shop. I'm positive this is a British TV show, and I'm almost positive it was a comedy. All I know is that it's not "The Detectives".

Chosen answer: This sounds like an episode of "The Bill" from 1999 called "On the Road". DC Duncan Lennox and DC Liz Rawton travel to Salisbury to transport a conman back to London. From what I remember all the events you mention took place in the episode: Lennox having a problem, a scam involving an amount of change and at the end he leaves a note apologising for absconding.

General questions

I am trying to remember the name of a movie. I think it was out in the 90s. It was a mystery about a woman who,I believe, witnessed a murder. She was a member of a band (Irish, maybe)and played the electric violin. She might have been blind. I loved the music that the band in the movie played and want to buy the soundtrack, if I can remember the name.

Answer: Sounds like "Blink", a 1994 film starring Madeleine Stowe and Aidan Quinn.

General questions

There was a cartoon movie on TV back in the late 60s or early 70s. I THINK it was a Christmas cartoon, but it was definitely Christian in nature. I remember there was a child, and a giant in a castle with a swing in the courtyard. The child would show up uninvited to the castle and irritate the giant (not Dennis the menace style, just his presence irritated the giant). The child stopped showing up for some time and the giant was visited by (for lack of a better word) spirits. The one I recall for sure was Hail: A knight in a full suit of armor dancing on the giant's roof. At the end, when the child returns, the giant is no longer mean-spirited and glad to see the child. The child explains that he was taken away as the reason why he no longer visited. The giant flies into a rage promising to find the kidnapper and promises to harm him. The child explains there is no reason to. He was taken to a wonderful, magical, etc., place and he can take the giant there too. He offers his hand to the giant and instantly it is obvious the child has died and was talking about heaven because the child has stigmata (wounds in the hands and feet as if he were nailed to the cross like Christ). The title has been eluding me for years and is driving me nuts.

Chosen answer: This sounds like "The Selfish Giant", a short story by Oscar Wilde from a collection called The Happy Prince and Other Tales. It has been adapted for film and television many times, but there was an animated version in 1971 which may be the one you are thinking of.

General questions

I am looking for the title of a British heist/gadget movie that I saw some time ago. The film is likely 1960-1980 and included in the robbery sequence are remote control trash cans and a car which splits in two lengthwise to allow them to throw off the police. My meager recollection would suggest that the title of the movie was the name of the boy genius character who invented the gadgets.

Answer: This is "Malcolm" (1986), and the film was Australian, not British.

General questions

In the mid-80s, there was a mini-series that I believe was made in Australia. A plain, rich woman was forced off a small boat by her husband. He hit her with an oar and she was attacked by alligators, but she survived. After undergoing plastic surgery and becoming quite beautiful, she re-integrated herself into her husband's life and he didn't know who she was. Anybody remember the name or anybody who starred in it?

Answer: Return to Eden (1983) starring Rebecca Gilling and James Reyne.

General questions

I appreciate any help with this movie that anyone has. I don't remember the plot but here are some things that I remember. A woman starts killing men. One she kills by locking the door while he is in the shower and he drowns. Another she kills by making a pool ball explode after he hits it. I think at the end of the movie she ends up marrying the detective that is trying to catch her. I have searched many times and sites and can't find it, so I would be extremely grateful to anyone that can help. Thanks.

Answer: I think this might be "The Girl Most Likely to..." (1973) starring Stockard Channing as the killer and Ed Asner as the detective. Channing has plastic surgery and proceeds to kill the people who mistreated her when she was ugly. I believe she used an exploding 8-ball at one point.

I'm looking for the name of a film and in it there was a detective investigating a snuff movie. It ISN'T 8mm. There's a bit where one of the characters jumps / falls down a lift shaft to hide from the bad guys and there's a load of dead bodies hidden in the lift shaft all cut up.

Answer: This sounds like "Mute Witness" (1994). A mute makeup artist working on a horror film in Russia witnesses an on-set murder/snuff filming. Has a cameo by Alec Guinness at the end.
