Continuity mistake: When Gertie replies she's going to Elliot's room, she swaps from holding her trolley with one hand to two.

Continuity mistake: While ET takes a bath, Elliot - face and hair covered in Coca-Cola - hangs up on his mom and goes back to the tub. When the angle changes his face and hair are dry.

Continuity mistake: Elliot brings food to ET and the toys fall on top of the food. Elliot stretches his fingers to grab the edge of the plate. A frame later, they are away from the edge.

Continuity mistake: Home alone, Elliot leaves for the kitchen and the dog enters the room, scaring ET, who bounces backwards and crashes against a table. When the angle changes, he is repeating all previous movements.

Continuity mistake: Home alone, Elliot talks to ET and says "Human. Boy. Elliot" and right then he swaps from standing one meter away from the bed to leaning against it.

Continuity mistake: When Elliot is in the cornfield and sees ET for the first time, there are several shots of him shouting, crawling backwards really nervously. However, there's suddenly a brusque cut to an angle from behind where Elliot stands still totally calm. This shot is senseless.

Continuity mistake: When Elliot falls asleep in the garden and sees ET, from the side angle his hair is messy and sticking up, but brushed in the front angle.

Continuity mistake: When the family is having dinner, Gertie's head position and her hands on the fork are inconsistent between shots.

Continuity mistake: When Elliot carries the pizza and walks towards the shed, a baseball bat laying on the grass changes positions between shots, and also a big white ball moves closer to him.
