Corrected entry: When the Dude is at Jackie Treehorn's house, it's nighttime. It's still dark out when he's shown running down the street as he awakens from his fever dream and is picked up in the cop car. When he arrives in the police chief's office, it's daylight outside the window, and possibly the sun has recently risen, or he spent some time in the drunk tank first, who knows. But then when he's taking a cab home, in the scene with the cabbie who kicks him out for complaining about the Eagles, it's already nighttime again.
