Continuity mistake: When Donald tears the brim off his army hat with the bayonet of his rifle, the size of the torn off brim goes from small to large between shots.

Continuity mistake: When the drill sergeant spins Donald around, he crashes down and you can see there is a footprint in the ground behind him, but when we see Donald a few shots later, the footprint has disappeared.

Continuity mistake: When Donald crashes to the ground after the drill sergeant spun him round, his rifle is positioned by his side but when he tells the drill sergeant "I quit!", the rifle is now in front of Donald.

Trivia: At the beginning of the cartoon, we see Donald wearing an army hat instead of his usual sailor hat. This would be repeated in the other army-themed Donald Duck cartoons.

Trivia: The cartoon reveals for the first time Donald Duck's middle name - Fauntleroy. You can see this on Donald's "Order to Report for Induction" form on the title screen.
