The Piano (1993)

Continuity mistake: During one of the piano lessons, Baines tries to force Ada to lie on the bed next to him. When she tries to leave, he holds her back, pulls her blouse down about the shoulders, and it tears in the back. When she gets up later, the blouse is whole again. (00:52:05)

Continuity mistake: When Baines has his first 'piano lesson' Flora asks to be allowed in. Ada declines, and when she goes back in the house her playing starts immediately when she closes the door, way before she could have walked to the piano and sat down. (00:40:40)

Continuity mistake: When Stewart has a heated argument with a group of Maoris over some land deal, a guy with two feathers in his hair appears in front of him between shots. (01:06:10)

Aunt Morag: Well, that is a strong opinion.
Flora: Aye. It's unholy.

George Baines: Ada, I'm unhappy. 'Cause I want you. 'Cause my mind has seized on you and can think of nothing else. This is why I've suffered. I am sick with longing. I don't eat, I don't sleep. So, if you have come with no feeling for me, then go. Go. Go. Get out. Leave.

Flora: She says its her piano and she won't have him touch it. He's an oaf. He can't read. He's ignorant.
Stewart: He wants to improve himself. And you'll be able to play it. Teach him how to look after it. You can't go on like this. We're a family now. We all make sacrifices and so will you! You will teach him and I will see to it.
