Dad's Army

Don't Forget the Diver - S4-E2

Factual error: While Capt. Square is looking through his binoculars at what he thinks is Mainwaring's platoon marching with their rifles, a 1960's Bedford lorry drives past on the road behind them.

Battle School - S3-E2

Other mistake: When the train stops Godfrey gets off to relieve himself but when he is climbing back in to the carriage the train appears to be already moving at speed because the background projection started moving too early.

Getting the Bird - S5-E4

Audio problem: Jonesy is playing the organ. A pigeon 'flies' out the top of the organ and lands on the keys, so Jonesy picks it up and moves it, taking both his hands off the keys. Yet the music plays on.

Trivia: The only member of the cast to have actually served in the Home Guard was John Laurie. Arthur Lowe, John Le Mesurier, Clive Dunn and Arnold Ridley were in the regular army.

Trivia: Clive Dunn was a prisoner of war during World War 2.

Trivia: Godfrey's middle initial is 'P'. This is probably a reference to his character's trait of constantly getting 'caught short' (needing to go to the bathroom).

Mainwaring: In the words of the great E.C Cochran. "Early to bed, early to rise, no jolly good if you don't advertise."

Godfrey: Sir. I wouldn't want to roam the countryside ravishing maidens.

Frazer: I am refusing to obey.
Mainwaring: You'll be in charge of the liquor permits, Frazer.
Frazer: I'm right behind you, Captain.
