Factual error: During the second half of the film, set in Britain, Peter Mitchell is hiding away from a woman. She opens the door and asks "What are you doing in my closet?" She seems to talk with an upper class British accent, but she wouldn't use the American word "closet," but use either "wardrobe" or "cupboard."
Continuity mistake: There is a scene where Sylvia is trying to get a cake out of the cake pan. In the first shot, from farther back, you see her shake the pan then sit it down and take off her oven mitts. The shot continues to go in and out throughout the scene. Every time the shot is zoomed in you can see Sylvia's oven mitts on her hands. Every time the shot backs up you can see the oven mitts on the table.
Sylvia: I know some of the children at this school and I know their parents. Family life is not easy. But of all the fathers, the step fathers, the half fathers that I've know, not one of them could love and support a child like these three men love Mary. There's nothing they wouldn't do for her. I just hope that there are other children who are as lucky as Mary is.
Sylvia: Someone going to come to the airport to help me pick up my mother?
Peter Mitchell: Jack can you do it?
Jack Holden: Oh damn, I got that kidney operation this afternoon! What about you, Peter?
Peter Mitchell: Michael, I'll give you $1,000 if you'll do it.
Sylvia: Edward is a wonderful person, but something keeps me from saying yes.
Vera Bennington: Would that something happen to be a tall architecht?
