Scream VI

Continuity mistake: When Mindy is giving her speech about franchises, when she says "Oh, and that's not even the worst part," her hands go from together and up near her abdomen to separate and down by her sides instantly between cuts.

Continuity mistake: When Bailey and Kirby are looking at the corkboard with all the previous killers, watch closely when Kirby's phone rings. Between cuts, she goes from looking forward to looking down. Then, in the next shot, she goes from looking slightly to her right to looking slightly to her left. It's subtle and can be easy to miss but noticeable once you see it the first time.

Continuity mistake: When Bailey shows Kirby the photo of Sam's dead therapist and says, "He was stabbed through the nose," pay attention to Kirby's mouth when she grimaces. She goes from having her mouth closed to open between cuts.

Trivia: When the kids are walking down the stairs in the subway station, you can see one guy walking upstairs dressed as the character Mojo Jojo from "The Powerpuff Girls." Mojo Jojo was voiced by Roger L. Jackson, the same voice actor for Ghostface.

Trivia: The climax to this film is largely an adaptation of the ending to the notorious unused leaked script draft for Scream 2, with appropriate modifications to suit this film's plot.

Trivia: The bodega in the film is called "Abe's Snake Bodega." This is a deep cut reference to original "Scream" director Wes Craven. In the early-to-mid 1970's, Craven worked as a crew member on several pornographic films to make ends meet, and he used the name "Abe Snake" as a pseudonym.

Question: The events of Scream VI take place around Halloween, but it doesn't specify what year. A news reporter said that the Woodsboro killings took place in 2022 as if they happened a year ago, and Scream VI was released in March of 2023. So, do the events of Scream VI take place on Halloween of 2022 or 7 months in the future after the film's release date?

Answer: Using some conjecture, if the film states the last killings took place in 2022 and treats it like "last year," you can assume it takes place around Halloween 2023. Films are allowed to take place in the future. They don't have to be set around their release date. So how is this a mistake?

TedStixon

Answer: I think this is more "trivia" than mistake. There's no error in a film taking place a bit further ahead in time than in its release date.
