Continuity mistake: Johnny and Toby are heading to a frog pond. Johnny stops by a fence and considers taking a shortcut through the pasture until Toby warns him of the bull in the pasture. When the two boys turn around, the fence is suddenly several feet away.

Continuity mistake: Brer Fox rips two buttons off Brer Bear's coat to use as eyes on his "tar baby." When he pulls them loose, small pieces of the coat's fabric are stuck to them but when he puts them on the tar baby's face, the pieces of fabric have disappeared.
Brer Rabbit: Please don't throw me in that briar patch.
Uncle Remus: Miss Sally, Johnny didn't mean no harm. He was just tryin' to be like Brer Rabbit.
Brer Rabbit: I was born and bred in the briar patch.
