Continuity mistake: When Alita is playing the street version of motor ball she knocks over Tanji. In the next shot Tanji is following her in the pack as she scores, then the shot switches back to him on the ground.
Character mistake: In her first walk through the city with Dr. Ido, after feeding the dog her sandwich, Alita takes a flyer and reads it. Between the lines that read "Wanted" and "Murder" there is a line in Spanish that says "Querido para el asesinato." It should say "Querido por el asesinato".
Continuity mistake: Alita and Hugo are talking; he just told her clumsily that she's heavy, and asks to see her hand. You can see walk past Alita a group of punks, but the same punks are also checking out of the stalls behind Hugo, with their colored purple and green mohawks visible in the background. (00:11:55)
Trivia: James Cameron originally intended to direct the film, and began work on it way back in 1995. He kept pushing it back, as he felt the technology to make the film hadn't been perfected yet, and also because he became attached to several other projects in the meantime. Eventually, Cameron relinquished the director's seat to Robert Rodriguez and instead focused on writing and producing the film. The film was finally released in 2019... twenty-four years after Cameron started work on it.
Alita: I do not stand by in the presence of evil.
Alita: I'd do whatever I had to for you. I'd give you whatever I have. I'd give you my heart.
Alita: I don't mean to be rude, but am I supposed to know you?
Dr. Dyson Ido: Actually we haven't met.
