Fast & Furious 6

Question: Can someone explain to me the paint thing that was used to track Shaw from London to Spain?

Question: Towards the end when the briefcase has been recovered and Hobbs asks what the reward should be, Dom replies "1327." What do these numbers refer to? Shaw's former hideout? Or an amnesty law code or something?

mNemesis

Chosen answer: It's the house number of Dom's old house in Los Angeles, from the first film. Hobbs says "name your price", so I guess Dom was asking him to buy his old house back (the gang are having a BBQ there in the next scene).

Question: Han's death, seen in Tokyo Drift, is seen here, tying up the threads and the jumping timeline leading into Furious 7. Was it always an option to re-feature that down the line to unite all the movies, or as more sequels were made did the makers just realise there was an opportunity to make use of the event?

Jon Sandys

Chosen answer: The most logical answer would be that quite a lot of people liked the character Han. Since he dies at the end of "Tokyo Drift" the filmmakers probably came up with the idea of having the movie take place after all the other ones, so as to feature Han in more sequels.

Question: When Dom is contacting everyone about the job in London, what was the purpose of the whole spectacle when Han and Gisele get the call? Who were all those people? And how did Dom get in contact with them first? Is it explained outside of the film (interviews etc)?

Answer: An assumption here, but since they are plain-clothes agents and law enforcement officers (one of them is actually listed in the credits as "Lead Chinese Agent"), it could be that Hobbs pulled some law muscle to track Han and Gisele (who may have gone incommunicado after the Rio heist) so Dom could talk to them on the phone.

Chosen answer: All the flashbacks are archive footage.

Question: I have a few questions: 1) In this film we learn Letty survived the explosion of her car after Fenix shot at it. My question is why did he shoot the car and not her? Realistically she would've died either way which is probably what Fenix assumed, but since it seemed like he was about to shoot her did he have some ulterior motive? 2) When exactly could Braga have found out Letty was alive? Before or after he was captured? 3) Seeing Shaw's attitude towards one of his own men being killed/failing a job it seems like he had no sympathy for anyone, so why did he let Fenix live after he found Letty alive in the hospital?

Answer: 1. I think that Felix wanted to get rid of both the car and Letty at the same time. Or maybe he wanted to leave clues for Toretto to find (as only he could). But then again this could all be a cover up because of what happens later on. 2. Braga was working with Shaw so it is possible for Shaw to tell Braga this information. 3. Shaw possibly wanted to kill Felix (i think that Feix died before Shaw found out that Letty was alive). He went to where Letty was to kill her but then realised that Letty knew nothing about what happened so recruited her as a member of his team (also he liked her as well).

Question: Towards the end, it's revealed that Owen's men captured Mia before he got captured after the tank fiasco-presumably as leverage, seeing how things played out with Owen. But if the team lets Owen go, how does that make it any harder to rescue Mia? Sure, they could threaten to kill Mia if they don't let Owen go, but what about the rescuing itself?

Answer: Owen Shaw is a dangerous terrorist and may have a plan to make it difficult to rescue Mia.

Factual error: In the scene where Shaw is talking to a goon while fixing his car he states the simplest things cause the most problems while holding a spark plug. We know this can't be right as Brian concludes the car is a turbo diesel like a Le Mans car, which would actually use a glow plug and not a spark plug. (00:19:50)

Suggested correction: That's exactly the problem that Shaw is referring to, a member of his team installed the incorrect plug which caused a problem, i.e. a Spark Plug and not a Glow Plug (a simple thing, causing the problem), along with the 'good' being simple minded and causing the rest of Shaw's team a problem.

The glow plug isn't what causes combustion in a diesel like how a sparkplug does for gas. The wiring harness for a spark plug vs a glow plug is completely different and they aren't interchangeable. You can't just accidentally put a spark plug in a diesel, it doesn't work like that.

Tej Parker: It's all between you and the car you build. It's a bond, it's a commitment.
Hobbs: Sounds like a marriage.
Tej Parker: Yeah, but with cars, when you trade up they don't take half your shit.

Trivia: The tube train in this film is the same one as in V for Vendetta. Both scenes were filmed at Aldwych, where a fully operational train is kept for training and filming.
