Corrected entry: Leaving aside the absurdity of a full sized car in a penthouse with no means of entry or exit other than taking out the window, the car is a very obvious plot device. Mr. Shaw has swindled $2B and once he is convicted all of this possessions will be sold off. That car sold in 2010 for about $500,000 so it would be one of the first things sold making it a terrible place to hide the missing loot AND the ledger that finally convicts him for life. Even if he gets off on the charges good luck explaining to the FBI who are watching him like a hawk what happened to the car once he decides to melt it down.

Correction: Several reasons this isn't a plot hole. One, Shaw explains how he got it in, piece by piece. If it's just Steve McQueen's Ferrari, Shaw would treat it like art and never drive it, so reassembling it wouldn't be out of the norm for an eccentric billionaire. But given it's actually from the money he stole, he would most assuredly keep it in his apartment. Two, Agent Claire directly states the car will be sold off once Shaw's convicted (so no grand surprise), but Shaw maintains his innocence (and stubbornly thinks he'll be found not guilty). Three, part of Shaw's arrogance is not only will the FBI not look for the ledger in the Ferrari, but that they wouldn't know what it is. And fourth, once Shaw is found not guilty (as he plans), it won't matter if the FBI is watching him when he turns the gold into cash (or whatever he wants) since he can't be tried again. He would simply take the car apart piece by piece (which is actually what the employees end up doing anyways).

Corrected entry: Mr. Shaw refers to Josh as "Ben" towards the beginning of the film. "What would I do without you, Ben"? (00:03:50)

Correction: This is not accurate. I have watched this scene numerous times and there is no mistake.

Corrected entry: As the Ferrari is lowered down the building, its orientation changes from shot to shot; sometimes the underside of the car faces the windows, other times the top of the car. (01:19:25)

Watchful

Correction: If you watch the scene where Matthew Broderick is hanging on to the bumper of the car, a camera shot from the roof looking down shows the car spinning around multiple times while hanging from the wire. This explains why one side would be facing different directions in different shots: because it actually was changing direction while spinning.

Corrected entry: In the scene where Claire comes to Josh's house to tell him Shaw is going to walk and that Shaw wants an apology from him, the front door has a diamond shaped window on it and window panels on either side of it as well as a mail slot and dead bolt. Later, when Claire drops Josh off in front of his house after his apology to Shaw, the front door is now solid wood with just a peephole, no side windows, deadbolt or mail slot. Correction: There is a front door to the house that leads to an entry way and then his door that leads to his living room.

Corrected entry: When Matthew Broderick's character, Mr. Fitzhugh, started saying "This car must weigh 2,000 pounds" - A whole car made of gold would defininetly weigh more than a normal, average-sized car. 2,000 pounds isn't even one ton. Then he went on to say "sixteen ounces to a pound, that's 32,000 ounces." Then he continued "Current price of gold is $1,872 per ounce." And he finally ended by saying, "Josh, it's about $45 million." He did add "give or take $10 million" later on but the math is still a bit off. 32,000 ounces X $1,872 per ounce = $59, 904,000 (rounded off to $60 million). (01:16:30)

Correction: The price of gold on the stock market is measured in Troy ounces which are 32 grams, not 28, so there are only 14.58 Troy ounces in one pound. Therefore, the car would only weigh 29,160 troy ounces of gold at a market price of $54,587,520.

Continuity mistake: After Slide locks Josh's boss in the master bedroom closet within Mr. Fitzhugh's ex-apartment, he turns on the boombox at a high volume. Then later in the film, when they are retrieving the car through the window of the same apartment, the music is off. Then later, Josh's boss is seen trying to get out of the closet and the music is back on. (01:08:20 - 01:19:55)
