Beth returns from a business trip to Hong Kong where they had a lay over at Chicago airport. While there she has sex with her former lover. Shortly after Beth feels sick, but puts it down to jet leg. She goes back home to Minneapolis and spreads a virus to her son Clark and husband, Mitch. When Beth and Clark die, Mitch goes in quarantine where the doctors stumble up on the fact he is immune to the virus. Meanwhile in Hong Kong, London and in another location, cases of the virus are cropping up, as the WHO give their best effort researching the virus A race against time is on. As the virus is spreading there is a chance the human race could lose...

But if Forsythia is a homeopathic drug, then why is it being sold in pharmacies in the first place? As the characters say later on, it takes months just to get a drug approved, let alone sold.
