Colombiana

Factual error: When Cattleya escapes through the sewer drain and winds up in front of the U.S. Embassy, she uncovers the manhole all by herself. Impossible for such a young child to do.

Factual error: The beginning of the movie is set in 1992. The father gives the daughter an SD card. SD cards were not on the market until 2000's. The only portable media cards available were Compact Flash and Smart Media, which are much larger. She later swallows it for safekeeping which she wouldn't be able to do with earlier cards due to size. (00:05:05)

Factual error: In the office of the CIA agent on the wall behind the desk is a picture of President Obama but this part of the film is set in 2007, when George W Bush was president.

Factual error: When Cataleya shoots at the CIA agent through the window while on the phone with Ross, immediately after getting the information she wants she hangs up on Ross and his phone starts emitting a landlines "Off-hook" tone - which is impossible on a cell phone. (01:23:18)

Il Duce

Character mistake: The actor who played FBI agent Ross is Lennie James, who is an English actor. When they are searching for the girl in the parking garage of her building, he orders the SWAT team and other agents to search everywhere, under the cars and to "check the boots." He says this twice. Boot is the British term for trunk. He should be telling them to check the trunks of the cars, not the boots.

Emilio Restrepo: That's what you want? You want me to teach you how to be a killer? Sure. No problem. I teach you. But you'll be dead in five years. If you want to be a killer and survive, you got to be a smart one. You have to know things besides how to pull a trigger. You have to know how the world works, how people think. You got to learn and understand how to be psychological. And I cannot teach you that unless you learn the basics at a school.

Trivia: The film was originally written as a sequel to "Leon: The Professional" (also known as "The Professional") that would follow a grown-up Mathilda. However, due to rights issues, the movie was reworked to be a stand-alone film focusing on an original character.
