Character mistake: Dale is supposed to be smart and have an eidetic memory, but when he carves the message into the tree trunk he misspells "friend." (00:29:35)
Continuity mistake: When the cop is dead, he is holding onto his radio with his right hand. When the kid picks up the cop's gun, in the wide shot, the cop's right hand is lying down his waist. (00:41:05)
Tucker: What am I supposed to say, Dale?"Oh hidy-ho officer! We've had a doozy of a day. There we were minding our own business, just doing chores around the house when kids started killing themselves all over my property."
Dale: Yeah, yeah, just like that.
Tucker: They're never gonna believe that.
