Continuity mistake: Spoiler: When Hoffman gets out of the body bag at the police station, he kills the coroner. He then hides by the wall next to the door as the second coroner walks in. Camera cuts and Hoffman is now standing in front of the second door, a good three feet away from where he was standing before. (01:08:00)
Continuity mistake: When Hoffman is killing the second coroner his facial expression changes completely in an instant. (01:08:05)
Continuity mistake: When Hoffman kills the police officer opening a door, the door is only slightly open. When Jill gets to the police officer, the door is open much wider. (01:08:45 - 01:13:40)
Continuity mistake: The blood around Bobby's face after he pulls his teeth keeps disappearing and reappearing when he's talking to Joyce. (01:08:50)
Revealing mistake: When the door slams shut on the SWAT team, watch the wall. It wobbles. (01:09:10)

Continuity mistake: Hoffman shoots the cop guarding Jill through the eye and some brain matter appears on the prison bars. Camera changes and the brain matter has disappeared. (01:11:20)
Continuity mistake: When Hoffman is walking towards Jill in the jail, the button down shoulder epaulette on his jacket is undone in one shot but done up in another. (01:11:50)
Continuity mistake: When Jill is running into the evidence room, the dead cop has got his trouser leg up revealing some skin. When Hoffman is locking Jill into the chair, look out the door and the trouser leg is down. (01:12:10 - 01:15:10)
Continuity mistake: When Jill is hiding from Hoffman, the blood mark on her face changes size, shape and colour instantly. (01:13:40)
Revealing mistake: Just before Hoffman knocks Jill out, there is no blood on her head or the table. As he grabs her head blood appears on her head just before he smashes it on to the table. (01:14:40)
Visible crew/equipment: When Hoffman is strapping Jill's second wrist into the chair, look at his head. As the camera moves in for a closeup, you can see the camera's shadow move over Hoffman's head. (01:15:15)
Continuity mistake: Hoffman does Jill's second wrist restraint up. Camera cuts and he does it up again. (01:15:20)
Audio problem: Hoffman sets fire to the Jigsaw evidence with a Zippo lighter. You hear him open the lighter and set fire to the petrol. He then leaves the lighter. But you hear the lighter click shut again. (01:17:40)
Continuity mistake: We are shown Jill posting the video to Dr. Gordon. There is no writing on the envelope, however when it lands, same side up, there is. (01:18:20)
Continuity mistake: It is visible that Dr Gordon's handwriting when he writes " I know who you are", is different from the handwriting in Hoffman's letter. (01:19:40)
Continuity mistake: In Saw, Adam crushes Zepp's head with the toilet block lid. However, when we see the bathroom in this film, Zepp's body shows no sign of this. (01:20:20)
Continuity mistake: Towards the end of the movie when Dr.Gordon throws the saw out of the bathroom into the hallway and it lands, the next time you see it, it has turned just a bit from when it landed. (01:21:00)
Continuity mistake: When Dr. Gordon looks down at his own severed foot at the end of the film it is laying on the outside of his foot, yet when the foot is seen in Saw 3 it is laying on the inside of the foot. (01:21:10)
Revealing mistake: Spoiler: Right at the end when Dr. Gordon looks at his severed foot from SAW, note the blood pattern on the tiled floor. The blood seems to go at right angles around 2 tiles. Blood should just spread out, not take the pattern on the tiles. (01:21:15)
Answer: He, his wife and his daughter were abducted before he decided to work with Jigsaw. He didn't put them in danger. As for why he decided to work with Jigsaw following his ordeal, like other characters in the franchise, he either developed a level of Stockholm syndrome or he concluded that Jigsaw's methods were right, or a combination of both.
