Visible crew/equipment: At one point in the scene where Tom Cruise is escaping with the antivirus, but before he gets on the motorcycle, he jumps and sort of flips and manages to shoot someone while upside down. When he lands, the ground ripples like a waterbed, revealing that it was some sort of pad to cushion his fall.
Visible crew/equipment: During the bike chase at the end of the film, a stunt man in full leathers and crash helmet can be seen on one of the bikes - none of the riders were wearing anything like that.
Continuity mistake: In the first scene Ethan is climbing - he makes a strange jump and he manages to move from one rock to another, but after that tremendous front-hit his t-shirt is perfectly clean...what soap does he use?
Audio problem: When Luther walks from the helicopter he steps in some sheep droppings. His last step (but not the second to last.) makes a slushy sound. But sheep droppings are too dry to make such a sound.
Continuity mistake: In the shots after Tom Cruise made the white smoke-like stuff, it shows the accident in the background shot of Tom, but the next time, it's miraculously cleaned up.
Continuity mistake: When Nyah is getting out of the "PALACIO DE JUSTICIA" building in Sevilla Spain, she is using a leather bag in her right arm, then we see a close up of Tom Cruise wearing sunglasses and watching her. The reflection of Nyah on the sunglasses is wrong, it should be backwards (the bag has to be in the left arm in the reflection).
Continuity mistake: Ethan shoots the glass on the front of the black bike during the chase near the end, but when the bike lands after jumping off the rock over Ethan, the glass is back in perfect condition.
Continuity mistake: After the car chase, when Nyah sits in Etahn's lap, the sun is on the left side of her face (and from the back right on Ethan). In the next clip Nyah's face is in shadow and the sun is from the front left on Ethan's face.
Continuity mistake: In the first car chase, in the clip right after Nyah says '. you gotta catch me', you see the double yellow lines on the road. But in previous clips, and on the clip right after, the lines on the road are white. The clip with yellow lines are from another stretch of road.
Continuity mistake: In the final fight scene between Hunt and Ambrose, Ambrose cuts Hunt's face and back with his knife. But in the scene when the knife is close to his eye, you get a close up of it and there is no blood on the knife blade. It is perfectly clean.
Continuity mistake: The agreed ransom at the start of the film is £37 million. Later this turns into 30 million pounds (though I may have got the share options bit a bit confused here). Then when the transfer is actually made, it has reduced to 30 million dollars.
Continuity mistake: When Tom and Thandie are lying in bed after the chase, at the end of the scene, he leans in to kiss her. Thandie brushes back a very clear lock of hair that has come out of nowhere.
Continuity mistake: In the rock climbing scene at the very beginning of the film, you can see the magnesium dirt left on the rocks from the earlier takes.
Continuity mistake: When Nyah is informed that the disc is in an envelope in Sean's pocket, she takes it out and puts it under her arm with part of it sticking out on the back side of her arm. The scene changes to a half body shot of Nyah and you can tell there is no envelope under her arm and as she turned to walk away Sean would have seen the envelope sticking out from under her arm.
Factual error: During the motorcycle chase gasoline spills from the bullet hole on the motorcycle. Every mechanic knows that gas doesn't have drops like those, it spreads out in a thin film. Also the wind would blow it away.
Continuity mistake: As Tom Cruise is climbing up to the biotech island facility, the helicopter is sat waiting on a ledge. As the camera helicopter flies around the stationary chopper, its downwash causes one of the rotor blades to bounce downwards momentarily.
Revealing mistake: When the two cars chase Ethan, note the skid marks further up on the road from previous takes. A second later, the jeep makes a turn on that very same spot.
Continuity mistake: When Ethan kills Ambrose his head lays on a rock. A shot later, half a second afterwards from a wider angle, it's on the sand facing the opposite way. Then a shot later back to the first close-up and it's lying back on the rock.
Other mistake: Ambrose smacks a stone on Ethan's forehead. No blood nor even a bruise appears seconds later when Ethan is kicked in the face and we get a close-up of him.
Revealing mistake: When Ethan's pal is in the helicopter and Ethan is escaping on the motorbike, he fires a grenade launcher at a gold ford Taurus driving across a bridge. When the grenade hits the car and the car explodes it flies into the air and off the side of the bridge. You can see as the car is falling from the bridge there's no engine or transmission in the car. It is only a shell.
