The Matrix (1999)

Continuity mistake: When Neo is about to be interrogated, Agent Smith throws Neo's file onto the table. In this shot, the piece of cord holding the file together points upwards, moments later it faces to the side. (00:16:35)

Continuity mistake: In the interrogation room. Mr. Smith has a green file with him with Neo data accumulated. Smith opens the file and lifts up some pages without turning them fully over. In the very next shot there are suddenly multiple pages to his left which have already been turned over. (00:16:50)

Continuity mistake: When Smith put his glasses on the table while he is talking with Neo, the glasses are near Smith. When Smith takes them back, they are further away. (00:18:00)

Continuity mistake: When Agent Smith is interrogating Neo, after Smith has sealed Neo's mouth shut and he is backed into the corner, when the camera cuts back to Smith you can clearly see a reflection in his glasses of Neo still sitting down in the chair. (00:19:50)

Continuity mistake: When Neo is being interogated by Agent Smith he says "How about I give you the finger and you give me my phone call?" Neo gives him the finger; in one shot the other fingers are bent all the way down. In another they are only half bent. (00:19:55)

Continuity mistake: When Neo is waiting under the bridge to go into the car with Trinity, Switch and Apoc, watch when the car pulls up, you see the back door open completely and then it cuts and then you see Trinity open it again. (00:21:45)

Continuity mistake: When Neo first meets Morpheus, Morpheus extends his right hand with his other hand behind his back. Next shot shows Morpheus with his left hand at his side, and when he withdraws his hand, it is back behind his back. Talk about fast hands! (00:24:55)

Continuity mistake: When Neo and Morpheus are inside the hotel room and Morpheus is giving the offer to Neo, the reflection in either part of his shades shows that he is holding his hands away from each other. Yet, when Neo goes to pick up the red pill, they are close together, then we see them further apart from the reflection inside the shades. (00:28:15)

Continuity mistake: As Neo awakens inside his "goo tube", a few from overheard shows him raising his arms against the covering of his tank. The shot changes to one from the front and suddenly Neo is in a sitting position and raising his arms up as he breaks the covering. When Neo was first raising his arms, he was laying on his back. (00:31:15)

Continuity mistake: When Neo first enters the construct, Morpehus and Tank plug him in. In the construct, Neo turns around a second after being plugged in, and Morpheus is now standing there. There's no way he could have loaded up that fast. (00:37:45)

Continuity mistake: When Morpheus first takes Neo into the Construct and is explaining it all to him, you can see Neo's reflection in his glasses, but when the camera shows Neo, he is wearing different clothes and standing in a different position and moving. (00:39:55)

Continuity mistake: The first time Neo comes out of the Loading Program, and is about to throw up, it shows you a shot from his eyes and the floor is clear of anything, and then it does a shot of him throwing up and he does so on a bunch of wires. The angle changes too - the POV shows all the lines in the grate at about 45 degrees, but when he throws up, they're all horizontal in relation to him. (00:42:25)

Continuity mistake: When Tank comes in to talk to Neo about training in Neo's cell, the strap on Tank's shoulder moves from being on his skin when he's in the doorway to on his shirt in subsequent shots. (00:44:55)

Continuity mistake: When Morpheus and Neo are fighting in the training simulation, just after Morpheus says, "You think that's air you're breathing now?" there is a pause before he prompts Neo, "Again." The shot goes to others watching on the monitors, notice Dozer looks to his left in the direction of Mouse. In the next shot the camera cuts to Cypher and Trinity (who are sitting behind Mouse) but Dozer's head is now facing the opposite direction it should be. (00:50:10)

Continuity mistake: When Morpheus fights Neo in the training program, Neo is pushed backwards and slides along the floor. In the close-up, his head stops level with one of the black stripes on the floor, so that his eyes are looking at it. In the wide shot in which Morpheus jumps in slow motion through the air, Neo's head is past the line so that it is level with his chest, as if he has slid forward further, despite having stopped previously. In the close-up, the line is again level with his eyes, but when we see Morpheus' knees crashing into the floor, Neo has again moved forwards such that his head is no longer level with the line. Continuity mistake: Near the middle of the film when Morpheus directs Tank to load the Jump Program note where Morpheus and Neo land on roof of building. Aerial view shows them landing some distance from the building but when the camera cuts to the first close up they are standing right next to the building. (00:51:30)

Continuity mistake: When Neo falls during the jump program, after he finally lands on the concrete his left arm sleeve is pulled down midway. The camera then does a close-up of Neo, and his shirt has fixed itself and is now to his wrist. (00:52:30)

Continuity mistake: Near the middle of the film when we see Morpheus and Neo have entered the Matrix in a scene that begins at a city intersection with a "Walk/Don't Walk" Traffic Sign. Just as the cross the street, Morpheus is speaking to Neo, the next shot looks over Neo's shoulder back towards the intersection, it is no longer visible, as though they have traveled farther down the block than physically possible in the time allotted. Continuity mistake: When Neo and Morpheus are in the matrix simulation program, look at the people behind Smith as he draws his weapon. Normal. Then, when he is frozen and Neo looks back at him, you will see that all of the people are facing towards Neo or walking towards him. (00:54:50)

Continuity mistake: When Cypher is making the deal with agent Smith, he cuts off a big piece of steak. A few seconds later when he actually puts it in his mouth, it has changed shape and shrunk considerably and changed from medium rare (mostly red) to medium (pink in the center). (01:01:20)
