Seven Pounds

Question: I am very curious as to how Ben, i.e. Tim, is able to donate his heart to Emily, who had a very rare blood type. I just find it unusual that Tim would have the same blood type as Emily. Also, how would Tim have known Emily's blood type?

Chosen answer: In the course of the film it's revealed that Ben has done extensive homework and taken drastic steps to find the right person, i.e. a "righteous good person" to give them what he has left to offer. Therefore, he would have to find someone with his own rare blood type AND needed a heart...which he eventually did.

Question: How can a woman with such a serious heart condition have such toned arms? Muscles like Emily's requires some serious weight lifting which I doubt a serious ill woman like Emily could do.

Chosen answer: In real life she probably would not have this type of physique or be able to maintain it. While some actors change their looks to reflect a character, it is typical for others to look unlike everyday people, such as being ultra-thin and having excessively toned muscles.

Question: What does he give to Inez, the old woman?

Chosen answer: She was not getting proper treatment. When he chewed out the boss because of this, the patients all started to get better care.

The only ways Tim/Ben could have died are by heart failure and/or respiratory paralysis. Both of which mean that the toxins reached the heart. If they hadn't, then he would only have had a paralyzed right arm and been in extreme pain. The logic of this movie implies that either his heart was unaffected by the toxins and he still somehow died or his heart was affected by the toxins and they decided to transplant it anyways.
