Darkman II: The Return of Durant

Trivia: "Darkman II" was the first direct-to-video release for Universal Studios. It was granted a larger budget in comparison to many other subsequent direct-to-video releases and had a decent marketing push, as Universal was testing the waters for movies exclusively made for the video market. The gamble with a success, with Universal continuing to release direct-to-video (and more currently, direct-to-Netflix) releases well over twenty years later.

Trivia: Executive Producer Sam Raimi reportedly told co-star Larry Drake that despite his character Durant being killed off a second time at the end of this film, there were plans to bring him back in a later installment once again. Essentially, Durant would become Darkman's version of the Joker or the Green Goblin- a recurring arch-nemesis that never "truly" dies, and is always brought back to life one way or another. Unfortunately, after the release of the third film, no further sequels were commissioned, so this idea never came to be.

Trivia: In the original film, Westlake/Darkman was played by Liam Neeson, whereas in this sequel the character is played by Arnold Vosloo. However, if you pay close attention, you can see that several shots of Liam Neeson from the first movie were used as stock-footage in this film. (Ex. the opening flashback is a mixture of both Neeson and Vosloo footage cut together, and at least once you see a dramatic close-up of Darkman's eye which is a shot of Neeson taken from the first film.).

Continuity mistake: There is a color change on Darkman's burned skin. In the beginning of the movie, in his lab, his burns are pretty much flesh colored. Later on in the movie, they are a much darker red and brown.
