Crisp (the bad guy) really is the kid's (Dominic) father. Crisp goes to the school and starts a fire, in order to generate chaos, so he can kidnap his son. Schwarzenegger finds them, and in a shootout kills Crisp. The kid gets back to the mother and she and arnie hook up.
