Revealing mistake: As Ricky Bobby drives a test lap, one crew member tells another that Ricky Bobby is going only 26 miles an hour. In three close-ups of the vehicle, the reflection of the bleachers can be seen on the windshield. The reflection does not change. The vehicle is not moving.
Continuity mistake: In the long crash scene at the end, the Perrier car loses the front passenger side tire in the initial flip, but in the next shot it is attached to the car again.
Female Fan: Hey driver, drive these! [Lifts shirt.]
Ricky Bobby: Oh God, please be 18.
Trivia: Jane Lynch plays Lucy Bobby, the mother of Ricky Bobby (Will Ferrell). In real life, Lynch is only seven years older than Ferrell.
