Visible crew/equipment: At Lees Ferry when the stagecoach is crossing the river, there is a shot from on top of the stagecoach. As the camera pans over to the river, a clear shadow of the camera and its film magazine are visible.

manthabeat

Continuity mistake: When the stagecoach enters Tonto street, it's shadow switches sides between angles.

Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where Ringo (John Wayne) finishes talking to the Marshall and walks toward the stagecoach, watch the right hand top side of the stagecoach, the camera with a film reel can be seen and as Ringo walks towards the stagecoach it gently moves back behind the stagecoach. The camera appears to have some kind of a covering of black cloth and also the hand and part of the arm of the operator can be seen.

keiko

Continuity mistake: In town, towards the start of the film, it goes from a street scene in front of the coach to a shot of Andy Devine sitting on the coach. From the street you can see the buildings behind the stagecoach, but when it goes to Andy sitting on the coach, the background is sky, not buildings.

wolfman

Factual error: The distance from Lee's Ferry to Lordsburg is over 500 miles, not a trivial distance by stage coach. But in fact, the stagecoach travels several times through Monument Valley, back and forth. Monument Valley is on Navajo Reservation, nowhere near the Apaches or Geronimo.

Other mistake: During the Indian raid, there is a shot of the stagecoach coming at the camera. There is a large black splotch in the centre of the frame where either the film got scratched or there was dirt in the gate. This is visible on streaming versions of the film and may not be in restored versions.

manthabeat

Continuity mistake: The kid is wearing suspenders until he climbs up onto the stagecoach during the great chase, and his suspenders reappear and disappear again after.

Factual error: This movie takes place in 1880. Near the end, Luke has a "dead man's hand" with "Bee" cards which did not start being made until 1892 (which is why 92 appears on the spade ace in those decks).

Marshal Curly Wilcox: Come busting in here - you'd think we were being attacked! You can find another wife.
Chris: Sure I can find another wife. But she take my rifle and my horse. Oh, I'll never sell her. I love her so much. I beat her with a whip and she never get tired.
Dr. Josiah Boone: Your wife?
Chris: No, my horse. I can find another wife easy, yes, but not a horse like that.
