Continuity mistake: In beginning of the dvd there is a scene where the farmer meets the sheriff and the farmer has a shotgun. When the farmer has the gun, it has hammers; when the sheriff has the shotgun, it does not have hammers. (00:05:05)

After old man Wrenchmuller dynamites the Enforcer Drone, the Martians can lift off by litterally 'Flushing' their excess. The next day, their 'flush' has produced a crop of giant vegetables in Wrenchmuller's field, allowing him to keep his farm.

Trivia: Royal Dano plays a goofy old man who encounters aliens with his dog. Two years prior, in "Killer Klowns from Outer Space," he similarly played a goofy old man who encounters aliens with his dog. (Albeit, his fate in that film was much different than in this film.)
