Revealing mistake: Victor(ia) is supposed to be a male performer. Yet in the musical number closeups, the outline of her female cleavage is too obvious, in spite that she would be wearing bosom padding for her costume, and Patrons seated in the front row and the balcony would notice the difference.
'Squash' Bernstein: Apparently the mob doesn't find homosexuality to be an acceptable lifestyle.
Toddy: Kill him, but mustn't kiss him.
Answer: She accepted the Oscar nomination for the film. She turned down the Tony nomination for the Broadway musical because no one else got nominated and she thought it was unfair.
