Marnie (1964)
Plot summary
Directed by: Alfred Hitchcock
Starring: Sean Connery, Diane Baker, Tippi Hedren, Louise Latham, Martin Gabel
Marnie Edgar (Hedren) is an ice-cold habitual thief. She uses her looks to gain the confidence of her employers, robs them, and changes her identity. Her only loves are her horse and her mother, although she has problems with the latter relationship. Marnie applies for a job at Mark Rutland's (Connery) Philadelphia publishing company. Mark recognises her since he is a client of her last employer, but instead of turning her in, he decides to watch her.
Big Evil
Mark Rutland: Before I was drafted into Rutland's Miss Taylor, I had notions of being a zoologist. I still try to keep up with my field.
Marnie Edgar: Zoos?
Mark Rutland: Instinctual behavior.
Marnie Edgar: A lady's instinct too?
Trivia: Hitchcock's cameo comes five minutes into the film - he is entering from the left side of the hotel corridor after Marnie walks by.
