The Fog

Visible crew/equipment: When Dan (the weatherman) calls Stevie to tell her the fog bank has shifted direction there is a shot inside the weather station where the camera moves in slowly on Dan and you can see its shadow on the equipment it passes by. (00:20:35)

Visible crew/equipment: At Stevie's house, when Mrs Kobritz comes in with shopping, she tells Andy to answer the telephone and the shadow of the camera/operator is visible on the wall (behind the plant) as it moves to follow Andy to the telephone. (00:45:21)

Visible crew/equipment: At the bar, Nick says to Liz "I'll be right back" and there is an immediate cut to the front of the lighthouse. Just before the fog begins to roll in you can see a crew member on the left side of screen moving around. It looks like he was signalling for the fog to be poured in. (00:53:24)

The Fog mistake picture

Continuity mistake: While Father Malone is drinking his wine you can still see the cork laying on the table. He finally gets up to try to catch Bennett before he leaves and the cork has mysteriously put itself back into the bottle. (00:05:00 - 00:05:45)

Trivia: When Father Malone discovers the journal, at the beginning of the movie, he opens it to a full page of text. We only see it very briefly but if you pause the film it appears to be some sort of joke. Here's a couple of extracts I could make out: "writing dumb shit in this fucking movie.." "...big tits, tatoos (sic)..." (00:06:41)

Question: I recently bought the Scream Factory Blu-ray. During the opening with the old man telling the kids the spooky story, there's a moment where it cuts from a wideshot to a closeup, and it looks like there's a weird, random zooming effect added that's only about five frames between the wide and closeup shots (between the lines "drew towards land" and "Suddenly, out of the night"). Is that part of the original movie, or is that just some sort-of defect on the disc? It just looks out of place.
