Plot hole: The six-year-old girl (who actually looks a few years older) apparently had seen and remembered a tattoo on the robber's hand well enough to be able to relate the details of it to Meredith, who is then able to visually identify the tattoo on the robber's hand in a strip joint. Not really credible - especially as the woodpecker costumes covered up pretty well the entire body! (Also, the robbers were constantly moving, making visual inspection even more difficult).

Factual error: At the end of the movie, they break out of prison and their lawyer finds them at the hangar. She tells them they are free and they celebrate and get in the car and drive off. Innocent or not, they broke out of prison. I highly doubt red tape would allow an official to say, "Oh well, never mind, we were gonna release them anyway." (01:46:25)

Trivia: The prison scenes were filmed inside a real prison. The warden of the prison agreed to the use of the prison for the movie if 1/3 of the money was used to improve the prison. Richard Pryor talks about his experiences behind the scenes on his Here And Now DVD.
Question: Gene Wilder lost his job at the beginning cause he was annoying the customers. But why did Richard Pryor lose his? I can't remember the reason.
Chosen answer: Because his employers discovered he had put grass (marijuana) in the salad and got all the dinner guests high. Well, he didn't, the cook did. But he brought it into the house so he was fired.
